Mabiza Resources Limited (“Mabiza”) operates the Munali Nickel Mine (“Munali”), which is located in the Mazabuka District, 75kms south of Lusaka, Zambia. Mabiza is a wholly owned entity of Consolidated Nickel Mines Ltd.
The Mine is a modern, world class facility with fully mechanized underground operations. To support this vision. Mabiza is seeking the services of an experienced and qualified individual to take up the position of:
Role: Underground Manager
Reporting: Mine Manager
Job Purpose: To oversee all the operational and planning aspects of the Underground Mine.
Responsibilities: –
- Implementation of appropriate procedures for excellent Safety, Health and Environmental management systems.
- Promote and participate in the development of site safety policies.
- Fulfil statutory duties of Underground Manager and ensure the full regulatory compliance of the operations.
- Direct day-to-day control of underground mining activities.
- Supervise and manage the underground mining operations.
- Provide relief supervision to technical services section.
- Leadership of an organisation that encourages teamwork, continuous improvement of operational processes and achievement of performance targets.
- Ensure all underground mine plans, schedules, budgets, and forecasts are adhered to.
- Carry out and direct project work and feasibility studies as required.
- Contribute to and review periodic reports including forecasts, annual budgets, and reserve statements.
Skills & Qualifications: –
- Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- 10 plus years mining experience essential, predominantly underground.
- Experience as an Underground Manager or Alternate Underground Manager at an underground operation.
- Proven track record in safety, production, project management and team building.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Package.
- Full Member of EIZ.
