We are seeking a skilled Training Manager to join our team in Zambia. Open to Zambian nationals and residents, this role is responsible for developing and delivering impactful training programs that enhance safety, performance and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will help build team capability and align learning initiatives with Kal Tire’s AIMS and business goals.
Role Purpose
The Training Manager is responsible for developing and delivering high-impact training programs across Kal Tire Zambia, ensuring alignment with the company’s AIMS and operational goals. This role focuses on training trainers, instructors, and supervisors, while fostering a culture of continuous learning, safety, and service excellence. The Training Manager also leads and supports improvement projects to enhance operational performance and team capability.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environment

Champion Kal Tire’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies

Ensure safety principles are communicated and implemented across all training activities
Training Design & Delivery
-
Design, develop, and revise training programs to meet organizational and statutory requirements
-
Train trainers, instructors, and supervisors in effective training techniques
-
Develop and implement a team member training package tailored for the Zambian business
-
Support operational managers in solving specific training challenges
-
Contribute to the Kal Tire Learning Management System (LMS) process
Leadership & Collaboration
-
Lead and mentor cross-functional teams to deliver training initiatives
-
Lead improvement project teams and mentor team members responsible for training initiatives

Support functional managers in developing and implementing training programs for:

Asset management (with the Manager, Asset Management)

Business improvement (with the Manager, Continuous Improvement)
-
Technical services and safe work practices (with the Manager, Technical Services)
-
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
-
Chair training discussion groups via the Kal Tire intranet forum and communicate outcomes to management

Liaise with internal departments, mining clients, and equipment manufacturers to align training with operational needs
Administration & Budget Management

Develop and manage the annual training budget

Collaborate with Business Unit Managers and Specialist Managers to allocate training project resources effectively

Review budgets quarterly to ensure delivery against plans
-
Gather, document, and prioritize business unit training needs for management review

Support Business Unit Managers in meeting mining client contractual expectations
-
Monitor compliance with operational processes and recommend improvements to training delivery for enhanced safety and commercial value

Qualifications & Experience
Work Experience
-
Proven experience in designing, developing, and revising training programs
-
Experience in training trainers, instructors, and supervisors
-
Experience managing training projects aligned with business improvement, asset management, and technical services
-
Strong product application knowledge of both client mining equipment and Kal Tire-specific equipment and tooling
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills

Ability to discuss training value and outcomes with internal and external stakeholders

Budget management experience

Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project

Understanding of learner capacity and development methods
Education
-
Post-secondary degree in Business Management, Organizational Behaviour, or Human Resources Management

Specialisation in Training and Development is an advantage
Special Requirements

Willingness to travel within Zambia; ability to relocate preferred
