The work schedule for this position is:

Duties

The incumbent provides Information Management Reception and Switchboard services to all USG Agencies and employees at post. The incumbent routinely interacts with members of the Mission and members of the general public. The incumbent is often the first point of contact for a member of the general public and must thus conduct these conversations with great tact and care. Receiving and placing local, long distance and international phone calls; assisting callers in reaching the correct office. Providing administrative assistance to the Information Management Officer (IMO), including maintaining Mission telephone / dialing information.

Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of telephone switchboard operating experience or equivalent system(s) is required.JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must be able to operate the telephone switchboard efficiently under pressure with minimal supervision. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook suite of programs.
Education Requirements:
Mandatory: Completion of Secondary School.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE:  Mandatory:  Fluent; speaking/reading/writing English. May include the the ability to translate. May be tested.Good working knowledge; speaking/reading/writing Bemba or Nyanja

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Good oral and written skills are required to effectively communicate with the public and Embassy personnel.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
