Job Description

Purpose
Responsible for conducting comprehensive training and assessments of KMP employees and designated contractors.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.

  • Analyze training needs and define training based on completed assessments to identify skill gaps and implement appropriate interventions.
  • Planning for daily activities according to the training plan and schedule
  • Produce training schedules and communicate to relevant employees and supervisors.
  • Prepare training materials in line with current trends aimed at resolving maintenance-specific challenges.
  • Execute training sessions in groups or individually on Preventive Maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs.
  • Coaching learners to improve Maintenance Availability and Reliability
  • Devise training programs according to organizational requirements and standards
  • Liaising directly with the Supervisors to minimise impact on production
  • Complete all documentation to a high standard and ensure that it is handed in expediently.
  • Administrate and record training progress and completion in the approved company Learning Management Systems-Workday and INX Intuition.
  • Incorporate safety in all aspects of training
  • Boldly prompting others on safety and security issues by maintaining a pro-active approach to all safety aspects of behavioural and operational safety culture to promote teamwork within the department in line with company values
  • Ensure that maintenance compliances are addressed.
  • Any other duties as may be reasonably requested of you, in line with effective operations of the Training Department.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Grade 12 School Certificate or its equivalent
  • Minimum Craft Certificate in HER with Automotive Electrical added advantage
  • Qualification in Teaching Methodology
  • Member of EIZ
  • High level of competency on machinery in the required discipline
  • High standard of verbal communication skills
  • Ability to supervise and mentor learners
  • Ability to conduct thorough training without impacting negatively on production
  • Microsoft Office computer skills

Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years work experience as HER Artisan/Technician or its equivalent on Excavators and Shovels
