This function is to support the unit in achieving its revenue growth by executing customer acquisition and retention strategies within the Corporate Channels and the Consumer Channels in line with MTNZ business objectives.

Under the supervision of the Senior Manager – SME and Indirect Sales, below are the Key Job Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of the Enterprises Sales business plan;
  • Translate approved unit plan into regional business plan for the achievement of regional sales and other business objectives;
  • Set performance objectives for the sales team in the region and identify and manage the delivery of tools of trade and any other logistical requirements to meet operational effectiveness and business objectives;
  • Retain existing customers by engaging them to ensure that the team consistently meets their needs and expectations. Engages relevant managers from other departments to ensure effective support for the sales team;
  • Oversees the optimisation of sales and penetration into existing key corporate accounts within the regions to grow revenues;
  • Oversees efforts to grow the SME segment revenue base;
  • Ensure that MTN Key Account principles are appropriately applied to acquisition and retention strategies;
  • Managing the debt portfolio for the corporate segment by engaging all accounts via account managers and credit control team to ensure that all accounts are sitting within the allowable credit period;
  • Monitor postpaid debt and ensure that region debt is maintained within budget;
  • Manage Indirect Channels to ensure optimization of returns from all the respective channels.
  • Manage Channel Partners and ensure targets are met;
  • Complete reports required by the firm such as weekly and monthly sales reports for SME & Indirect Channels;
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by providing liaison with the relevant departments of the firm and following up by checking the service provided by those departments;
  • Effectively manages the development of direct reports, effectively linking performance management, learning & development, talent management and the MTNZ Employee Value Proposition to achieve optimum performance. Stays abreast of developments in areas of expertise and performs to the highest ethical and professional standards;
  • Focus and motivate sales team to achieve objectives;
  • Innovate new ways of maximizing time of account managers for field visits;
  • Innovate improved processes for customer and Channel management and generation of revenues;
  • Carries out any related duties that will enhance the mission of the job;
  • Any other responsibilities or tasks as maybe assigned by management.

Candidate Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate with 5 credits or better of which English and Mathematics are a must;
  • Degree in Business/Sales & Marketing Management.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in commercial service industry and/or cellular/telecommunication.
  • Knowledge of GSM Environment, Customer Relationship Management and Sales management.
  • Knowledge of MTN products and Services.
  • Understanding various converging technologies and corporate requirements
