Job Purpose

- Electrical Equipment and Instruments Asset Care and Autonomous Maintenance
- Electrical Compliance
Key Task and Responsibilities
- Standby and Callouts as required
- Identify and resolve any equipment challenges, facilitating quick solutions to maintain availability/productivity.
- Ensure equipment availability and reliability with in-depth knowledge and understanding of the following activities:
- Seed Processing Specialized Equipment e.g., Color sorter, treating and Bagging Equipment ​
- Electrical Motors, Breakers, Feeders, Switchgear and Instruments​
- Transformers, MCC’s, Substations, Generators, UPS’s , Electrical distribution​
- PLC’s and SCADA – installation, commission, operation​
- Ancillary services – pneumatics, hydraulics, compressed air​
- Single Line Diagram Drawings – Read, Update, Compile​
- Electrical COC’s​
- Complex Fault Finding ​
- LOTO – Compliance, Training and knowledge transfer
- Ensure compliance – OSH Act, SANS, Bayer Standards and Inspections required according to site requirements
- Computerized Maintenance Management System – Works Orders Coordination and completion
- Asset Care and Autonomous Maintenance – Equipment Reliability and Availability – TRACC
- Increase end-to-end operational efficiency and advance customer experience through continuous improvement
- Lead HSE efforts according ISO45001 standards focusing on legal compliance and identifying safety risks applying the HIRA methodology.
- Ensure compliance with ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System.
- Participate in compiling Risk assessments and Job safety analysis and ensure compliance.
- Actively record safety observation and near misses
- Participate in 5WHY problem solving identifying corrective and preventative actions.
- Adhere to all applicable legislation, Bayer safety policies and procedures
- Adhere to requirements of legal appointments
- Actively promote the Bayer safety culture and best practices
Qualifications and Competencies
- Minimum a diploma N5 (Electrical), N6 (Electrical) or Millwright or B. Tech (Electrical).​
- Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
- Electrician certification (Trade test (LV+MV+HV), Red seal)​
- CoC Certification ​
- Technical background with 5-year experience operations and equipment electrical maintenance​
- Fluent in English​
- MS Office software (Excel, E-mail, Word, Project etc.)​
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills​
- Results focused with ability to work on own initiative​
- Strong teamwork capability (flexibility to work across the areas and positively influencing others)​
- Making informed decisions on a timely manner​
- Valid Drivers License
