Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSc in Civil Engineering) is required.
- Must be a registered professional with the Engineering Institution of Zambia or a similar recognised body.
- At least 10 years of experience in geotechnical civil engineering, specialising in the management and design of tailings.
- Proven project management capabilities, including extensive experience in conducting detailed site investigations.
- Demonstrated proficiency in sustaining and growing client relationships, skilled in proposal development, and effective at engaging both prospective and existing clients.
- Strong ability to operate independently and lead project teams, as well as mentor junior and mid-level technical staff.
- Expertise in Geotechnical software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct complex engineering projects to ensure delivery on time and with high quality.
- Lead the technical design, slope stability analysis, and conduct both field and laboratory geotechnical testing, focusing on tailings.
- Apply advanced principles of soil mechanics in modelling and analysis, including critical state line, finite element method modelling, and triaxial testing.
- Prepare and review technical documents, including reports, feasibility studies, and project proposals, with a particular focus on tailings management and design.
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills in English, coupled with a strong aptitude in technical writing for effective documentation and report generation.
