Security Officer


Job Purpose

To maintain the security of property, personnel, customers, and premises both logical and physical. The Officer is responsible for maintaining the security service level agreements(SLA’s) of Service Providers, safeguarding property and investigating security breaches

Key Responsibilities


  • Plan and coordinate security operations and assignments
  • Monitor security operational expenses against approved budget
  • Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, protocols and procedures


  • Conduct frequent security checks to maintain order and establish presence
  • Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people in the property
  • Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the area
  • Secure all exits, doors and windows after end of operations
  • Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts
  • Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions
  • Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation
  • Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocol before arrival of authorities
  • Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences
  • Write, maintain and present detailed reports, noting any damages, theft, and/or other irregular activity
  • Investigate and take the appropriate lawfully action as authorized by the corporate policy on accidents, incidents, trespassing, suspicious activities, safety and fire incidents


  • Ensure all security personnel operate within the confines of the Zambian laws
  • Maintain the company’s reputation with professionalism and legal compliance


  • Maintain the general security of personnel, customers, property and personnel
  • Active patrols, strict access control, operational surveillance equipment, monitoring and timely incidence reporting

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Degree in law or Security and Crime Science or Security and Investigation or other relevant qualification.
  • Relevant Professional Body
  • Minimum of 2 years’ Security and investigation experience

Competencies required for this Role

  • Experience in Security in the Telecommunications industry will be an added advantage
  • Broad knowledge of best practice standards and processes
