SALES AGRONOMIST
Commercial Farmers
- Manage the fertilizer and chemical programs; conduct soil research and recommend fertilizer and pesticides based on soil tests.
- Developed farming and business strategies to improve crop yield and profitability.
- Train and supervise farmers and track daily activity and ensure targeted yields are met.
- Design and implement innovative and sustainable production systems to increase agricultural output.
- Develop and maintain the highest level of operational and production efficiency by overseeing all agronomic field operations.
- Identify and implement strategic initiatives related to fertilizer application, crop production, planting, yield and harvesting and post-harvest activities.
- Develop crop yield reports, field plans, planting and harvest schedules, production budgets and action plans.
- Plan and oversee all crop production activities to ensure timely and effective production.
- Agronomic Advice on fertilizer usage, pesticides and extension service
- Initiate sales contracts and customize fertilizer formulation based on farmer`s requirements.
- Grow sales volumes and meet set targets through Increase in customer base year over year.
- Provide outstanding customer service to farmers and internal marketing management.
- Organize and participate in agriculture events (trade fair, shows etc)
- Provide agronomic content for technical and marketing communications for both internal and external audiences.
- Conduct field demonstrations and coordinate & implement research trails.
- Develop and implement testing procedures to evaluate the impact of training.
- Develop technical/selling messages, tools and training for marketing.
- Collaborate and create partnerships with institutions, fertilizer, chemical and seed partners.
- Establish new markets and customer portfolios within the business unit guidelines and budget.
- Developing marketing plan with commercial farmers grower to achieve sales growth targets
- Facilitate implementation of annual approved agricultural activities budget and calendar
- Agronomical business development and competitive analysis
- Management of sales performance indicators and budget sales reports
- Conduct commercial farmers field days.
- Management of commercial farmers accounts
   KEY SKILLS
- Experience and/or demonstrated knowledge with the use and application of stimulation and decision support models applied to fertilizer crops and farming systems
- Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary research team and carry out independent individual research, to achieve organizational goals Self-directed
- Ability to make independent decisions.
- Ability to train and provide technical knowledge to farmers
- Analysis judgment and provision of solutions to the day-to-day challenges.
- Analysis to communicate well and explain instructions for accurate execution with farmers.
- Ability to Build  relationships with commercial farmers by providing product selection and placement recommendations, along with agronomic support and advice
Qualifications
- Degree in Agriculture science, preferably with Agronomy as a special field or previous commercial agriculture managerial plus sales and marketing experience.
- Minimum 5 years senior management experience.
