About XPoint Investment Limited

Xpoint Investment Limited is a company that specializes in the processing of precious metals such as Gold at a small scale. Our productions sites are located in Mumbwa and Rufunsa with our headquarters in Lusaka.

We are looking for the services of qualified Safety Officers to join our team and will be stationed at our Mumbwa and Rufunsa sites.

Position Summary

The primarily responsibilities of include the following

Core Duties

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and risks.
  • Investigate accidents, near misses, and other incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing safety training.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with management, employees, and regulatory agencies to address safety concerns and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Review the effectiveness of the corrective actions and provide feedback appropriately.
  • Ensure there is readable signage on the site and maintain a database of all safety statistics.
  • Ensure all firefighting equipment is serviced and installed in appropriate areas.
  • Ensure all first aid equipment is inspected regularly.
  • Support a company’s emergency preparedness through developing and coordinating emergency procedures, rescue teams, fire fighting and first aid crews.

Qualifications/Experience/Skills

  • Minimum of Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Certification in Mine Safety is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 4 years working experience in mine safety or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical ability to conduct inspections and investigations in a mine environment.
