Program Officer

Zambia National Forest Commodities Association

Zambia National Forest Commodities Association (ZNFCA) is a community service membership-based farm forestry and environmental conservation organization. It was established to promote ecological and sustainable management of forests and farm forestry commodities and farmlands in Zambia by its membership for the benefit of future generations. The association seeks to achieve this aspiration by promoting and safeguarding forestry growth, reducing deforestation, and advancing socially responsive, ecologically sound and economically sustainable forestry and farm forestry business models in Zambia.

The Association invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who are innovative, energetic and performance driven to fill the following position:

Program Officer

Location: Lusaka

Department: Programs

Report to: National Coordinator

Period of contract: 1-year renewable

Job Purpose

To execute day to day operational plans in line with set objectives and targets.

The Program Officer will be reporting to the National Coordinator.

Main duties

(a) Preparations of activity plans as well as monthly, quarterly and annual work plans;

(b) Implementation of activities and timely submission of reports to the National Coordinator;

(c) Optimize activity implementation;

(d) Ensure availability of required materials for activity implementation;

(e) Ensure apex activities are implemented in harmony with those of the lower organs of the         association;

(f) Ensure cost effectiveness, timely retirement and accountability for implemented activities;

(g) Generate monthly, quarterly and annual reports of programs;

(h) Ensure safety and environmental protection all the time;

(i) Perform any other duty as may be assigned by the National Coordinator;

Qualifications and experience

Professional

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate;
  • Diploma in forestry and related studies from a recognized college;
  • Have Knowledge of Management;
  • Must be able to plan and execute activities to meet targets timely;
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Project Management Software;

Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in the Not-for-profit organization especially membership based associations.

Skill Specifications:

  • Excellent written, interpersonal skills and computer literate.

Other Attributes (Personality Traits)

  • Team player and able to solve problems.

Valid Driver’s license
