Procurment manager

Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to manage the company’s supply of products and services. Procurement Manager responsibilities include strategizing to find cost-effective deals and suppliers.

The procurement manager must have a record of accomplishment of building Procurement capabilities, influencing culture and leadership behaviors. Ability to think strategically, conceptually and solving business problems with pragmatic and speedy solutions. Personal and career maturity with strong communication, engagement, and interpersonal skills.

Possess strong background in execution of Procurement Best Practices with a record of accomplishment of achieving savings (Net Savings, efficiency Savings, Value Analysis, Cost Avoidance etc.)

Key Responsibilities.

The incumbent shall be responsible for the following activities:

Stores/Procurement

•  Devising and using fruitful procurement and sourcing strategies
• Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
•  Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers and vendors.
•  Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
•  Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility.
•  Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
•  Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services.
•  Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements
•  Discovering profitable suppliers and initiate procurement partnerships
•  Conducting market research, as well as creating cost estimates and forecasts.
•  Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
•  Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
•  Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
•  Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
•  Estimating risks and applying risk minimizing techniques, as well as negotiating contracts that comply with industry regulations, Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
•  Driving the realization of savings, supply efficiency, quality, and process improvements in the Business Unit, in line with regional and global strategies.
•  Identifying savings opportunities and initiate individual projects and initiatives at all operational levels
•  Analyze and report Purchase Price Variances (Spend Data) to identify cost leaks, track savings and identify efficiency opportunities, supplier performance management through segmentation and overall procurement KPI’s
•  Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement cost
•  Engage in regular negotiation with suppliers to ensure continuous improvement.
•  Coordinate with suppliers/vendors as well as QA teams (internal and 3rd party) to ensure supplier maintains quality and service agreements.
•  Work with suppliers to identify opportunities for cost improvement and category innovation.

Requirements and Skills:

•  Proven experience managing supply chain operations.
•  Strategic thinking to develop procurement strategies
•  Experience using supply chain management software and tools, including SAP Ariba, and/or Envision.
•  In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.
•  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
•  Management and leadership skills.
•  Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market
•  Good knowledge of supplier or third party management software
• Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers

Qualification

• The ideal candidate should have a Degree in Purchasing & Supply management
•  10+ years of experience in managing purchasing & supply functions
•  Master Degree an added advantage
•  Experience of having implemented supply chain processes in large MNCs and FMCG will be Preferred
