Procurement Supervisor

The PROCUREMENT SUPERVISOR will assist in the purchase of raw materials for the plant facilities in line with the company’s procurement policies in a cost-effective manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Source new suppliers for raw materials.
• Perform due diligence for new suppliers.
• Be a liaison between local suppliers and Chinese supervisors, necessitating proficiency in both standard Chinese and standard English.
• Be part of the team that receives Bags and Raw materials.
• Send out demand orders to the suppliers.
• Send out statements, and receive invoices from suppliers.
• Send out and receive contracts from suppliers.
• Hold meetings with both new and old suppliers.
• Expedite deliveries of raw materials.
• Follow up on the performance of existing suppliers.
• Be part of a bidding process each year for contract renewal for suppliers.
• Receive samples and take them to the lab for testing.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Education & Experience:

• Diploma or equivalent in business management, logistics, procurement, or related field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience.
• In-depth understanding of trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations, and legislations relating to the cement manufacturing industry.
• Sound knowledge of the company’s product and service offerings.
• Excellent knowledge of the principles and methodologies of supply chain/logistics management.
• Very good knowledge of existing laws and regulations governing exportation/importation and general transportation within the area of operation.
• Excellent numerical skills and ability to manage measurement systems.
• Excellent organization and project management skills.
• Good communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Very good relationship management skills.
• Very good analytical skills.

Salary Range: K7,000.00 – K7,500.00 Gross Pay
