 Job Type: Fixed-term Contract – Three (3) Years

Location: Head Office , Lusaka

ERB Grade: ERB 5

 Reports To: Manager – Procurement and Supplies Unit

 Background 

The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) is a statutory body created by the Energy Regulation Act No. 12 of 2019 to regulate Zambia’s energy sector. Key functions of the ERB include licensing energy-related enterprises, setting prices, monitoring the quality of energy products and services, and resolving consumer complaints. The ERB is looking to hire a qualified and experienced Zambian national to fill the position of Procurement Officer at its head office in Lusaka.

To undertake the procurement of goods, services and works in order to facilitate efficient and effective functioning of the Institution.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

 

The main responsibilities for this role include:

  • Undertakes timely and accurately the preparation of procurement plans in order to facilitate decision making
  • Undertakes efficiently procurement of goods, services and works in order to ensure their timely availability and facilitate smooth operations of the Institution
  • Undertakes effectively preparation of documentation for Supply Contract Management in order to facilitate contract management
  • Undertakes timely the preparation of bidding documents in order to facilitate invitations of bids
  • Undertakes effectively the maintenance of an up-to-date Supplier Database in order to establish a reliable supplier base
  • Undertakes effectively the maintenance of accurate records of goods, services and works in order to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of information
  • Undertakes timely the preparation of procurement reports in order to meet statutory requirements and facilitate decision making
  • Performing any other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing & Supplies or equivalent Member of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply 5 years’ experience
  • Verification of all qualifications by ZAQA is required
