Our client, a hub for diverse books, stationary and exclusive literature, is seeking a dedicated Operations Coordinator. This role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service and optimizing store performance across multiple locations. The Operations Coordinator will act as a bridge between the corporate team and the stores, facilitating communication, processes, and initiatives that contribute to overall success.
Responsibilities
Store Operations
- Monitor daily operations to maintain high standards of presentation and customer service
- Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with store managers to implement operational strategies that drive sales and enhance the customer experience
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures across all store locations
- Develop and maintain effective communication channels between corporate and store teams
Inventory Management
- Oversee inventory levels and manage stock replenishment for bookstores
- Conduct regular audits and manage the inventory system to minimize shrinkage
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely deliveries
- Implement strategies to optimize product placement and visibility
Training & Development
- Assist in the hiring and onboarding process for new staff
- Conduct training sessions focused on customer service, sales techniques, and operational processes
- Support the ongoing development of staff by ensuring objective performance reviews and feedback systems
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare reports on store performance and operational issues for management review
- Utilize data analytics tools to make informed decisions that drive store success
- Identify trends and provide recommendations for future operational improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations Retail Management, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in retail operations, preferably in a stationary, book supplier or similar environment
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and customer feedback
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills for data analysis
- Experience in inventory management and understanding of retail best practices
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identify and resolve issues
- Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team development and performance improvement
