JOB OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Nutritionist to join our team and support our customers with expert guidance on animal nutrition and feed products.

About us:

Livestock Services is the leading supplier of inputs for both livestock & crop farming in Zambia. The central objective of the organization is to provide a wide range of products to assist in cost effective production to both large & small-scale farmers. In addition, Livestock Services provides free advisory services to famers in a variety of farming activities including dairy, aquaculture, agronomy, fencing, irrigation, animal health & other related agricultural activities.

Job Title: Nutritionist
Location: Mazabuka
Department: Animal Nutrition

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice to customers on animal nutrition and feed products.
  • Conduct on-site visits to assess the nutritional needs of livestock and recommend appropriate feeding programs.
  • Develop and implement customized nutrition plans for various types of animals.
  • Stay informed about the latest research, trends, and products in animal nutrition.
  • Collaborate with farmers and other stakeholders to monitor the effectiveness of nutrition plans and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions for customers and staff on animal nutrition and feeding practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and nutrition plans.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Veterinary Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in animal nutrition, diet formulation and consulting.
  • Strong understanding of animal physiology, nutritional requirements and feed ingredients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Proficiency in using nutrition formulation software and tools.

Added Advantage:

  • Experience working with various animal species, eg, livestock, poultry & companion animals.
  • Knowledge of local agricultural practices and challenges.
  • Additional certifications or training in animal nutrition.
