JOB OPPORTUNITIES

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following positions at Liempe Farm of the University of Zambia on short-term basis of six (6) months.

1. JOB TITLE: PLOTMAN / WOMAN – 5 POSITIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform agricultural field work such as planting, weeding, gardening and fertilizer application.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of Grade 9 Certificate;
• Knowledge of agricultural field work such as planting, weeding, gardening and fertilizer application;
• Mature and able to work with minimum supervision.

2. JOB TITLE: ANIMAL ATTENDANT – 5 POSITIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Feeding Goats, Pigs and Chickens;
• Heading Goats;
• Cleaning Pigs and Chicken pens.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of Grade 9 certificate;
• Mature and able to work with minimum supervision.

3. JOB TITLE: SECURITY GUARD – 1 POSITION

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To safe guard University property, crops and livestock at Liempe farm;
• To ensuring that Farm infrastructure and all property is protected and not vandalized.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of Grade 12 Certificate;
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.

4. JOB TITLE: TRACTOR DRIVER – 3 POSITIONS

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 9/Form III Certificate;
• Holder of a valid Class C or Tractor driver’s license;
• Knowledgeable of tractor maintenance would be an added advantage;
• Minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience.

5. JOB TITLE: DRIVER III – 1 POSITION

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of Grade 9/Form III Certificate;
• Holder of a Valid Class B, C driving license;
• Must have knowledge in motor vehicle maintenance;
• Minimum of three (3) years driving experience.

6. JOB TITLE: STENOGRAPHER – 1 POSITION

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12/Form V School Certificate with credit in English;
• Secretarial Certificate with Typing speed of 50/55 wpm and Shorthand speed of 80/90wpm;
• (iii)At least 2 years secretarial work experience;
• (iv)Must be ICT literate.

7. JOB TITLE: GENERAL WORKERS – PLOTMEN – 20 POSITIONS

To perform agricultural field work such as planting, weeding, gardening and fertilizer application.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of Grade 9 Certificate;
• Knowledge of agricultural field work such as planting, weeding, gardening and fertilizer application;
• Mature and able to work with minimum supervision.

8. JOB TITLE: GENERAL WORKER – ANIMAL ATTENDANT – 14 POSITIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Feeding Goats, Pigs and Chickens;
• Heading Goats;
• Cleaning Pigs and Chicken pens.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of Grade 9 certificate;
• Mature and able to work with minimum supervision.

9. JOB TITLE: GENERAL WORKER – SECURITY – 18 POSITIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES:
