LLukanga Water Supply & Sanitation Company Limited (LgWSC)



Lukanga Water Supply & Sanitation Company Limited (LgWSC) is a private Company established under the Companies Act No 10 of 2017. It was incorporated on 21 March 2006 as a Commercial Water Utility (CU) Limited by shares wholly owned by the Local Authorities in Central Province. The CU was established as part of the GRZ water sub-sector reforms to improve delivery of water supply, sewerage and sanitation services to the urban and Peri-urban population in the Province.

Applications are hereby invited from highfliers who are suitably qualified and have performance based backgrounds to fill the position of:

1. Assistant Internal Auditor (Grade 5; Required No 1)

Reporting to: – Internal Audit Manager

Job Purpose

Contribute to the effective management of the Internal Audit Department and provide input on policy matters, regulations and operational systems. To help LgWSC accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.


  • Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Professional training required for the job: Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent. Must be a member of ZICA
  • At least 2 years relevant working experience in a reputable organization.
  • Ability to undertake complex audit assignments.
  • Good analytical skills
  • Good communication skills (both written & oral)
  • High level of honesty, integrity, objectively and independence of thought. Good initiative and personal organization

2. Public Relations Officer (Grade 4; Required No 1)


Reporting to:- Public Relations Manager

Job Purpose

The second In-charge of the public relations function and reporting to the Public Relations Manager (PRM), the job holder will take responsibility for providing the public relations support to ensure full publicity of Company operations and prospects to both internal and external customers through innovative programs. In conjunction with the PRM, the PRO will further monitor and evaluate the impact of efficient and effective communication at all levels towards enhanced customer service and Corporate image of LgWSC.


  • Grade 12 School Certificate
  • A Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies or Public Relations from a reputable institution.
  • At least 3 years in a related position in a reputable company.
  • Must be a member of the Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication (ZIPRC).
  • Good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Computer literate with wide knowledge of communication softwares like microsoft office.
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Must be of a sober character.
  • A valid driver’s licence will be an added advantage.
3. Job Title: Business Analyst (Required No. 1)


Reporting to: Managing Director

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Business Analyst to join our team at a leading Water and Sanitation Utility Company. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of business acumen and IT expertise, enabling them to bridge the gap between technology and business needs. This role will be critical in optimizing our processes, enhancing our IT systems, and ensuring the efficient delivery of water and sanitation services to our customers.


  • Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, IT, Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst with a focus on IT projects in the water and sanitation or utilities sector.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of IT systems, databases, and software development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements related to water and sanitation services is a
  • Under 35 years
  • A valid driver’s license will be an added advantage.


4. Infrastructure Planning and Development Manager (Grade L2; Required No: 1)

Reporting to: Managing Director

Job Purpose

Plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate assigned infrastructure plans, improving access to safe water and sanitation for the target population. Assessing water infrastructure needs, initiating and effectively managing assigned water infrastructure project(s) and reporting on the activities in line with the objectives, budget and timeframe laid down in the proposal(s). Provide technical support, meeting quality standards, enhancing beneficiary participation, liaising with other stakeholders, managing, and building the capacities of the water infrastructure staff.


  • Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Minimum professional qualifications Degree in Civil, Water or Mechanical Engineering Master’s Degree in Civil, Water or Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage Practicing
  • Registered Engineer with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
  • At least 8 years experience in engineering management and project management of donor financed projects with at least 3 years experience at senior level
  • Proven experience in project management
  • Must have demonstrable experience in the utilities sector, water sector in particular.
  • A valid driver’s licence will be an added advantage.
5. District Superintendent (Grade 5; Required No 1)

Reporting to:- Area Engineer

Job Purpose

To plan, coordinate and manage operations at the district and ensure quality water supply and sanitation service provision.


  • Grade 12 Full School Certificate with at least credits in English, Mathematics and any Science subject.
  • Diploma / degree in Water/civil/mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a reputable institution
  • Must be a member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory position preferably in the water sector or Service industry.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good communicator both verbal and written with excellent planning and coordinating skills.
  • Able to lead a team of Superintendents, supervisors, and artisans through professional competence
  • Must be sober minded and a self-starter.
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Valid driver’s license will be an added advantage.
