CENTRAL FARMERS NEST is a Zambian owned organisation established to bridge the gap in developing farmers in Zambia through provision of sustainable technical support and quality farming inputs at low cost to the farmer.
In order to meet its vision, Central Farmers Nest is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions in Kabwe:

Job title: Sales and Technical Services Manager (Responsible Person)

Purpose of the job
This individual will mainly be involved in interaction with regulatory agencies as specified in the Medicines and Allied Substances Act, 2013 and will be in liaison and maintain good relations with the regulators on behalf of the organisation. The Responsible person will ensure that the right products are sold to clients depending on their category of distribution and will supervise the sale of Prescription Only Medicines (POVMs). The candidate will report to the Head Technical Services and Support and will manage the technical sales consultants.
Key responsibilities include the following:
  • To ensure the overall smooth running of the Sales area.
  • Give free consultancy services and technical training to farmers.
  • Supervise the sale of Prescription Only Medicines (POVMs) in line with the Agrovet shop guidelines.
  • Supervise the sales personnel and auxiliary staff.
  • Record client queries, feedback and consultations.
  • Refer and record all potential pharmacovigilance cases to ZAMRA.
  • Provide feedback for products on demand or out of stock and provide guidance and recommendations on procurement of stock.
  • Ensure high level technical compliance on the sales floor.
  • Formulate standard operating procedures for the sales floor.
  • Ensure that all Acts and statutory guidelines regulating the veterinary sector i.e. technical services are maintained.
  • Ensure the technical services department is updated with regulatory information.
  • Ensure that all statutory requirements are met i.e. licenses, permits etc.
  • Prepare all statutory returns as they fall due.
  • Maintain records of prescriptions.
Qualifications
  • The candidate should have a minimum Degree in Veterinary Medicine or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • The candidate should be knowledgeable and conversant with Medicines and Allied Substances Act, (No.3) of 2013, Animal Health Act, 2010 and Public Health Regulations.
  • Must be registered by the Veterinary Council of Zambia.
  • Should have at least 3 years work experience in a similar environment

Job title: Animal Nutritionist – Sales

Purpose of the job
The Animal Nutritionist – Sales is responsible for the provision of Technical Support to clients of Farmers Nest. He/she will generate sales based on the technical advice given to the farmer. The candidate will report to the Manager Sales and Technical Support and will be part of both the Sales and Technical Services team of the organisation.
Key responsibilities include the following:
  • He/ She will ensure quality of ingredients for animal feed are of the highest quality and support the development of feed formulations for farmed based feed production.
  • He/ She will undertake training sessions for our clients in animal nutrition and feed formulation.
  • He/ She will train farmers in farm animal housing and farm animal handling.
  • Advise and teach farmers on how to produce healthy animals through better animal nutrition.
  • Investigating the causes of any feed related problems.
  • Promote animal feed security practices to the clients with special reference to feed storage and pasture development.
Qualifications
  • The candidate must hold a Degree in Animal Science
  • Should be proficient in animal feed production that include pasture development and storage of hay and silage
  • Should be knowledgeable of commercial ranching systems including feedlot.
  • Work experience is an added advantage.

Job title: Agronomist – Sales

Purpose of the job
The Agronomist – Sales is responsible for the provision of Technical Support to clients of Farmers Nest. He/she will generate sales based on the technical advice given to the farmer. The candidate will report to the Manager Sales and Technical Support and will be part of both the Sales and Technical Services team of the organisation.
Key responsibilities include the following:
  • He/ She will advise farmers on crop management and application of chemicals and fertilizers.
  • He/ She will provide farmers with technical guidance on chemicals to buyer for their crops
  • He/ She will undertake training sessions for farmers in crop production and management.
  • He/ She will advise farmers on crop storage after harvesting.
  • He/ She will generate sales for the organisation based on the advice given
Qualifications
  • The candidate must hold a Degree in Crop Science from a recognized university
  • Should be proficient in crop management and production.
  • Work experience is an added advantage

Job title: Sales Veterinarian

Purpose of the job
The Sales Veterinarian is responsible for the provision of Technical Support to clients of Farmers Nest. He/she will provide veterinary consultations to farmers and generate sales based on the technical advice provided. The candidate will report to the Manager Sales and Technical Support and will be part of both the Sales and Technical Services team of the organisation.
Key responsibilities include the following:
  • He/ She will provide veterinary consultation to farmers
  • He/ She will provide guidance to farmers on effectiveness of veterinary medicines
  • He/ She will issue prescriptions to famers in line with the Agrovet shop guidelines.
  • He/ She will generate sales for the organization based on the advice given
Qualifications
  • The candidate should have a minimum of a Degree in Veterinary Medicine or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • The candidate should be knowledgeable and conversant with Medicines and Allied Substances Act, (No.3) of 2013, Animal Health Act, 2010 and Public Health Regulations.
  • Must be registered by the Veterinary Council of Zambia.
  • Work experience is an added advantage.
