1. Breeding Team Leader

Yalelo is seeking a hardworking, innovative, and diligent Breeding Team Leader with experience in a leadership role in the fish farming industry. The Breeding Team Leader is responsible for meeting the production targets by ensuring sound fish breeding techniques are practiced in order to increase fry stock yield and quality of fish.

Location: The role will be primarily based in Siavonga

The Right Fit candidate will:

  • Supervise fish breeding and monitor the health of the fish.
  • Supervise and coach subordinates on fry collection.
  • Ensure strict adherence to high hygiene standards to prevent disease.
  • Ensure that an accurate record of the number of fish stocked in each pond is kept.
  • Monitor fry harvest and handling.
  • Coordinate the transporting of fry from breeding pond to grading tub.
  • Monitor the high breeding ponds and communicate the findings to the superintendent.
  • Validate and sign off on information captured on the breeding data sheets before submission to Data and Analysis for entry into database.
  • Ensure Time and attendance monitoring is done daily/consistently, and safety talks are done.
  • Ensure that Yalelo policies and procedures are always observed and adhered to by team members.
  • Make brood stock management plan, breeding schedules, forecast, and Weekly reports on brood stock status and fry production. Analysis of brood stock production; time in production, fecundity, weight, and age.

The Breeding Team Leader Must Have:

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate
  • Degree in Aquaculture and Fisheries, or another related field is an added advantage.
  • 1 year of experience in fish breeding and genetics.
  • Sound knowledge of aquaculture laws, regulations, and aquatic ecosystem.
  • Hands-on training and experience in selective breeding and genetic improvement programs.
  • Experience in managing large tilapia breeding and hatchery programs of improved strains.
  • Knowledge in essential computer software/packages like MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Access

2. Assistant Harbor Masters

The Yalelo Production-site in Siavonga is seeking for three (3) hardworking, innovative, and diligent Assistant Harbour Masters with experience in harbour operations. The Assistant Harbour Masters will assist the Harbour Master to ensure successful and safe operation of the harbour, channels, docks, and mooring spaces.

Location: The role will be primarily based in Siavonga.

The Right Fit candidate will:

  • Coordinate all daily harbour operations.
  • Assist to coordinate and maintain safe and orderly boating traffic.
  • Support the Harbour Master in enforcing applicable Lake Operations ordinances and ensures enforcement of laws, regulations, and policies concerning water or properties; coordinating harbour Security to assist with this enforcement.
  • Analyse harbour areas and facilities and recommends modifications that will improve safety and efficiency of the area.
  • Monitor mooring spaces to boats.
  • Plan, install, and supervise the maintenance of navigation aids such as buoys, poles, or markers.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with other boat operators, town officials, shipyard owners, and the public.
  • Support the Harbour Master by attending and participating in relevant community and management meetings.

The Assistant Harbour Master must have:

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate
  • Certificate or better in Logistics, Marine Transportation or Criminal justice
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge in essential computer software/packages like MS Office.

3. Surveillance Technicians

The Yalelo Production-site in Siavonga is seeking for three (3) hardworking, innovative, and diligent Surveillance Technicians with experience in surveillance system and other security systems. The Surveillance Technicians will be responsible for installation, monitoring, repair and troubleshooting of security systems including CCTV, alarm systems and other surveillance equipment.

Location: The role will be primarily based in Siavonga.

The Right Fit candidate will:

  • Undertake repair, maintenance, commissioning and decommissioning of security surveillance equipment.
  • He/She will be responsible for documenting installing, programming, configuring, relocating, cleaning, troubleshooting, and testing.
  • Participate in and ensure the quality of operations in the Surveillance Technical team.
  • Install Surveillance equipment such as wiring, cameras, PC equipment, racks, conduit as well as the installation of connectors and terminals.
  • Maintain, diagnose and troubleshoot systems and equipment.
  • Participate in the development and implementation key strategies, best practice techniques and tactics to ensure systems optimization.
  • Assist in planning, execution, and the management of projects.
  • Research surveillance technology and recommend enhancements to ensure efficient and cost-effective surveillance operations.
  • Share knowledge, trends and Surveillance, Information Technology best practices with team members to continuously develop and enhance personal and team capabilities

The Surveillance Technicians must have:

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Diploma in computer hardware or electrical/electronics.
  • 2+ years’ experience using relevant technology and security equipment (e.g., CCTV, Computers, 2-way radio and security software).
  • Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite.
  • An analytical mind with problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

4. Auto Mechanic

Yalelo is seeking a hardworking, innovative, and diligent Auto Mechanic to join our team of Mechanics at our production site in Siavonga.

Location: The role will be primarily based in Siavonga

The Right Fit candidate will:

  • Conduct scheduled maintenance on automotive machinery, systems, and heavy-duty machinery.
  • Examine (automotive) machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine anomalies.
  • Design a plan of action for all maintenance tasks and upgrades for all units in production.
  • Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records for all units in production.
  • Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary.
  • Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to boats and heavy-duty machinery.
  • Perform vehicle Assessments using checklist and alert clients on issues that will prohibit their vehicles from passing inspections.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports.

The Automotive Mechanic must have:

  • Automotive Technician Craft certificate or better.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • 2 Years of Automotive experience in the trade which may include an apprenticeship and/or applicable vocational training or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience in Automotive Equipment, Maintenance and Repair.
  • Experience working in an FMCG Industry is an added advantage

5. Feeding Team Leader

Yalelo is seeking a hardworking, innovative, and diligent Feeding Team Leader with experience in a leadership role in the fish farming industry. The Feeding Team Leader oversees all feeding activities in the hatchery.

Location: The role will be primarily based in Siavonga.

The Right Fit candidate will:

  • Ensure that correct feed types are available for feeding.
  • Generate insights in feeding patterns and recommends adjustments.
  • Validate and sign off on data collected and reported before submitting to Data and Analytics team
  • Oversees mortality collection and ensure that water quality is maintained at optimal states.
  • Ensure team members have the right Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Coordinate on-the-job training of new feeders
  • Plan shift rotations
  • Maintain records and prepares reports on feeding operation, ensures inventories, equipment, and capital improvements are properly maintained, coordinates feeding operation with other department functions.
  • Align with warehouse Team Leader and D&A data clerks on feeding records, feed availability and usability.
  • Ensure that Yalelo policies and procedures are observed and adhered to at all times.

The Feeding Team Leader Must Have:

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate
  • Degree in Aquaculture and Fisheries, or another related field is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 1 year of prior experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of fish nutrition and feeding patterns.
  • Experience working in a Tilapia Hatchery
  • Knowledge in essential computer software/packages like MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Access

6. Farm Service Superintendent

The Yalelo Production-site in Siavonga is seeking a hardworking, innovative, and diligent Farm Services Superintendent with experience in General farm management and harbour operations. The Farm Services Superintendent will work with security services to oversee compliance on site, accountable for the development and oversight of internal policies, financial and security risks relating to the protection of the company’s employees, property, and other assets

Location: The role will be primarily based in Siavonga.

The Right Fit candidate will:

  • Develop reports pertaining to equipment, materials, and production; keeps records of security   incident reports and investigations
  • Submit and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly company assets protection report to the Assistant Production Director
  • Ensure critical farm equipment is operational all the time and recommends repair and maintenance of farm buildings and equipment where necessary
  • Fill in and regularly update Risk Analysis Matrix (threat, likelihood, impact, level of vulnerability, level of risk)
  • Analyse all risks relating to company assets protection, employee safety, harbour operations safety and collaborates with relevant teams to mitigate the risks.
  • Review, drafts, and obtains signoffs on SOPs and Policies relating to Security operations for enforcement by the Security Services.
  • Manage relationship with the Security team (terms and conditions)

The Farm Services Superintendent must have:

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Farm Business Management, Security Management, or any related field.
  • At least seven 5 years’ experience in security services, with at least three (3) years at supervisory or management level, preferably within multinational companies (FMCG, manufacturing or mining desirable)
  • Knowledge of Harbour operations.
  • Familiarity with working with local law enforcement and managing diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in risk and compliance projects
  • Experience working with third-party contractors.

7. Assistant Construction Supervisor

Yalelo is seeking a hardworking, innovative, and diligent Assistant Construction Supervisor with supervisory experience.

Location: The role will be primarily based in Siavonga

The Right Fit candidate will:

  • Ensure each construction project is completed in accordance with the schedules set by the construction supervisor.
  • Coordinate building inspections.
  • Recommend cost reduction initiatives while maintaining required quality and productivity.
  • Analyse construction problems and recommend immediate resolutions.
  • Attend educational workshops, trainings, and conferences for professional growth
  • Identify slippages or delays in constructions and adjust schedules to meet deadlines.

8. Auto Electrical Technician

Yalelo Production site -Siavonga is seeking a hardworking, innovative, and diligent Auto Electrical Technician to join our team of mechanics. The right fit candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining electrical systems contained in automotive vehicles

Location: The role will be primarily based in Siavonga.

Responsibilities:

  • Fault diagnosis for Malfunctioning Motor vehicles/ equipment.
  • Repair damaged or faulty electrical parts and installing new systems and equipment.
  • Carry out routine maintenance works.
  • Understand the complicated working parts of a vehicle’s electrical system, including the ignition, engine, chassis, battery, fuel injection and engine management systems, anti-lock braking, battery, wiring and charging systems, heating and air conditioning systems, lighting, and indicators.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current industry best practices in automotive repair.
  • Conduct extensive diagnostic procedures to determine the sources of vehicle problems and provide accurate repair recommendations.
  • Inspect vehicles according to the regulatory requirements for emissions and safety.
  • Maintain legible and accurate paperwork for company records.

The Electrical Automotive Technician must have:

  • Grade Twelve (12) Certificate
  • Trades certificate in Auto Electrical Mechanic
  • Professional Engineer license required (EIZ)
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • 2-4 Years of Auto Electric Experience
  • Experience in Project Management, Engineering Equipment Maintenance and Repair.
  • Experience working in an FMCG Industry is an added advantage

9. Hatchery Superintendent

Yalelo is seeking a hardworking, innovative, and diligent Hatchery Superintendent with experience in leading large teams in the fish farming industry. The Hatchery Superintendent is responsible for the Administration, Operations, and Maintenance of Yalelo Fish Hatchery Including Fish Propagation, Production Planning, reporting, scheduling budgeting and ensuring the facility follows state regulations.

Location: The role will be primarily based in Siavonga.

The Right Fit candidate will:

  • Provide leadership and supervise critical production areas of the Hatchery: Fry production Feeding, Transfers, Brood stock management, Water quality control and night team.
  • Review daily, weekly reports and prepares monthly reports and takes corrective measures using computerized production data and reports.
  • Ensure SOP are followed by all the members and required revisions are made and SOPs signed off by team members.
  • Perform Hatchery administrative duties.
  • Review Maintenance of hatchery Vehicles, Chemical and hatchery equipment.
  • Manage, train, and supervise technical and labour personnel.
  • Participate in hatchery design, construction, and development of procedures.
  • Manage hatchery production schedules and operations rotational, modular management for consistent production.

  • Knowledge in essential computer software/packages like MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Access.

10. Harbour Master

The Yalelo Production-site in Siavonga is seeking a hardworking, innovative, and diligent Harbour Master with experience in harbour operations. The Harbour master will ensure successful and safe operation of the harbour, channels, docks, and mooring spaces.
