POSITION 1: EARLY CHILD EDUCATION TEACHER

Key responsibilities

  • Teaching and following a daily routine.
  • Adapting the program to suit the needs of the individual child or group.
  • Consistently planning innovative ways of keeping children actively engaged.
  • Imparting knowledge to children through fun and play.
  • Ensuring the social and emotional growth of the child.
  • Addressing the physical needs of the individual child or group.
  • Composing detailed reports for parents.
  • Meeting with The Head of Department and Administrator on a regular basis.
  • Adhering to the guidelines of the Education Department and State.

Qualification and experience

  • Must be a committed Christian.
  • Full grade 12 Certificate.
  • Diploma in Early Child Education.
  • Must be male, 35 years and above.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field.
  • Able to work with vulnerable children in compounds and communities.
  • Ability to exercise patience when interacting with children.
  • A caring and approachable nature.
  • Ability to work during the evening, and after-hours, as needed.

Personal Attributes

  • The candidate should possess, among others, high interpersonal skills, maturity, should be innovative, should have problem solving skills, should be able to work with minimal supervision, and should possess high confidentiality, integrity, and reliability.

POSITION 2: PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHER

Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation.
  • Maintaining discipline.
  • Teaching all areas of the primary curriculum.
  • Working with others to plan and coordinate work.
  • Working with parents to maximize their involvement in the school and the development of resources for the school.
  • Keeping up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum.
  • Organizing and taking part in school events, outings and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening.
  • Meeting with other professionals such as education welfare officers and educational psychologists, if required.
  • Organizing the classroom and learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment.
  • Planning, preparing and presenting lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within their class.
  • Meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development.
  • Taking responsibility for the progress of a class of primary-age pupils.
  • Preparing and marking work to facilitate positive pupil development.
  • Coordinating activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, and supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Full grade twelve (12) certificate.
  • Diploma in Primary Education.
  • Must be aged 35 years old male candidate.
  • Must be a committed Christian.
  • Able to work with vulnerable children in compounds and communities.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field.
  • Ability to exercise patience when interacting with children.
  • A caring and approachable nature.
  • Ability to work during the evening, and after-hours, as needed.
  • Proficient knowledge of teaching strategies and methods.
  • Proficient knowledge of applicable laws, policies and procedures.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Availability to work extended hours on occasions.

POSITION 3: HOUSEPARENT

The Houseparent will be committed to serve, willing to work, create a Godly Christian home atmosphere and nurture loving relationships.

Responsibilities;

  • Provide spiritual Leadership to children
  • Be a team member in seeing that the philosophy, purpose and objectives of the house are being implemented with each young child.
  • Have responsibility of the day today activities of the home and care of the children.
  • Maintain a comfortable and clean house with the assistance of the children.
  • Maintain a Christian environment that is joyful, relaxing and peaceful.
  • Enforce family guidelines and discipline in a loving manner. Work with skills sheets to combine discipline and reinforce positive behaviors.
  • Plan and supervise preparation of well balanced meals and keep log of meals served.

Qualifications and experience

  • Must be a committed Christian.
  • Full grade 12 certificate.
  • Diploma in Social work, Psychology, or community development.
  • Must be married for a minimum 3 years aged 45 years or more.
  • Have one year experience involving supervision of a group of teenagers or experience of practical nature in working with the youth.
