Multiple Positions

The Golden Valley Agricultural Research Trust (GART) is a Public-Private Sector Partnership (PPP) Research Institution promoting sustainable agriculture through adaptive and applied research.

GART wishes to invite applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill up the following positions

1. Position: Research & Development Manager

The successful candidate must meet the following requirements;

• MSc or PhD in Agriculture or Related Development Studies
• Demonstrated competency in Project Proposal Formulation, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation
• Must be familiar with the various linkages and operations of the Zambia Seed Sub-sector.
• At least 10 years of experience in a senior management position
• Must be aged between 35 and 55 years
• Must have a clean and valid driver’s license

2. Position: Research Technician

• A minimum qualification of Diploma in Agriculture from a reputable institution
• Full grade twelve certificate with a credit or better in English and Mathematics
• Good computer skills and, familiarity with website operations will be an added advantage.
• Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Two (2) years’ experience in an Agricultural Research or Extension related position at a reputable organization
• Below 40 Years of age

3. Position: Assistant Accountant

• Should have a ZICA Diploma, ACCA part 2 or Equivalent Accounts Qualifications
• Should be a member of ZICA
• Full grade twelve certificate with a credit or better in English and Mathematics
• Should have Good computer skills and be familiar with computerized accounting packages, preferably Pastel and Dove systems
• A relevant Information Technology qualification will be an added advantage
• At least five (5) years relevant experience in a similar or higher position at a reputable organization
