The Zambia University-College of Technology (formerly Zambia Information & Communications Technology College – ZICTC) is a Government owned higher learning institution established by Statutory Instrument No. 39 of 2022. The institution has continued to record growth in various areas of operation, as evidenced by the recent upgrade from College to University-College, in line with the Higher Education Act. The University- College is based in Ndola, and offers locally and internationally accredited professional and academic programmes, and a range of other products and services, such as consultancies and software development. 1. LECTURER – SOFTWARE ENGINEERING in the School of ICT – G4.2 Salary Grade, Permanent Contract (1 Position)
Minimum Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 ‘O’ levels including English and Mathematics
- Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering
- Master of Science/MPhil in Software Engineering or related field
- An earned PhD will be an added advantage
- Evidence of peer reviewed publications will be an added advantage
- At least two (2) years’ experience in lecturing IT related courses
2. LECTURER – CYBER SECURITY in the School of ICT – G4.2 Salary Grade, Permanent Contract (1 Position)
Minimum Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 ‘O’ levels including English and Mathematics
- Bachelor of Science in Cyber Security
- Master of Science in Cyber Security or related field
- An earned PhD will be an added advantage
- Evidence of peer reviewed publications will be an added advantage
- At least two (2) years’ experience in lecturing IT related courses
3. LECTURER – TELECOMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS in the School of Engineering – G4.2 Salary Grade, Permanent Contract (2 Positions)
Minimum Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 ‘O’ levels including English and Mathematics
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Power Engineering/Electronics
- MPhil or Master of Engineering in Electrical Power Engineering
- An earned PhD will be an added advantage

- At least two (2) years’ experience in lecturing Electrical Engineering related courses
4. LECTURER – ELECTRICAL POWER ENGINEERING in the School of Engineering – G4.2 Salary Grade, Part -time (1 Position)
Minimum Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 ‘O’ levels including English and Mathematics
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Power Engineering/Electronics
- MPhil or Master of Engineering in Electrical Power Engineering

5. LECTURER – PURHASING AND SUPPLY in the School of Business – G4.2 Salary Grade, Part-Time (1 Position)
Minimum Qualifications, knowledge and experience required for this role
- Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 ‘O’ levels including English and Mathematics
- Bachelor of Purchasing and Supply
- Master of Science or MBA in Procurement and Supply Chain Management

Job Purpose (Lecturing positions): Responsible for teaching and research; and for the development and review of curricula, supervision and marking of assessments and examinations; project supervision, student guidance, consultancy and community services; and administrative duties that may be assigned.
Key Responsibilities for Lecturing positions:
- Preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, workshops, and
- Developing curricula and course material that can be used across a range of
- Engaging industry, and collaborating with other academics and lecturers to improve teaching methods and expand knowledge base, leading to thoroughly equipped
- Setting, invigilating and grading assignments, tests, examinations, and research
- Conducting research, and writing papers, proposals, journal articles, and
- Participating in the institution’s, innovation, consultancy, and business development strategies
- Attending and participating in meetings, conferences, and other events in and outside of the
- Mentoring and providing support to students and other

- HUMAN RESOURCE AND ADMINISTRATION OFFICER – G5 Salary Grade, Permanent Contract Job Purpose: Reporting to the Deputy Registrar – HRA: shall be responsible for Human Capital Management and Development functions in order to enhance staff morale and optimize utilization of Human Capital
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing HR
- Assist in the implementation and communication of policies, procedures and conditions of service
- Coordinate the staff recruitment process and Coordinate the induction of new staff
- Research, analyse and advise on competitive and cost effective reward and compensation
- Assist in the development of HR planning strategies which consider immediate and long term staff requirements
- Facilitate training for staff including monitoring and reviewing of the training
- Assist in dealing with grievances and implementation of disciplinary procedures in accordance with applicable regulations and labour laws
- Prepare regular departmental reports
- Participates in budget preparations for the department
- Efficiently maintains of employee and other records
- Provides guidance, support and counseling to employees

Qualifications, knowledge and experience required for this role

- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management
- 3 years working experience in a similar role
- Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management

9. SOFTWARE ENGINEER – G6 Salary Grade, Permanent Contract (2 Positions) – Re-advertised

Job purpose: To creating and maintain in-house software; and helps to develop critical software products for our clients, including performing systems analysis on new or proposed software, and perform levels 2 & 3 technical support to Service Desk.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement new software programs
- Maintain and improve the performance of existing software
- Test and maintain software products to ensure strong functionality and optimization
- Design and update software database
- Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary
- Deploying software tools, processes and metrics
- Developing quality assurance procedures
- Researching, designing, implementing and managing software programs
- Working closely with other developers, technical support colleagues, business and systems analysts
- Clearly and regularly communicate with supervisors
- Training users
- Perform all other duties as required by superiors
- Providing level 2 & 3 technical support to the service desk
Qualifications, knowledge and experience required for this role
- Full Grade Twelve Certificate with at least 5 credits or better including English and Mathematics
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or related field
- At least one (1) year experience in a programming environment
- Membership with the Information and Communication Technologies Association of Zambia (ICTAZ)
Special aptitudes, disposition and personal qualities of ideal candidate
- Knowledge and interest in computer systems and the latest technologies
- Must be able to transition into a full-stack developer but with core competences in Linux, Database design, manipulation, and query, back-end technologies (Java, C#, C++) and front-end design (HTML/CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, MySQL)
- Working knowledge Laravel Framework
- Good written and verbal communication skills; including the ability to communicate complex procedures to other colleagues in a clear and simple way
- Innovative and entrepreneurial, with good commercial and business awareness
- An analytical mind; with attention to detail and desire to probe further into data
- A team player who is highly reliable, adaptable, flexible and driven by enthusiasm; with the ability to maintain calm under pressure
