Mining Engineer (“ME”)

Job Overview

As a mining engineer, you’ll ensure the safe and efficient development of mines and other surface and underground operations. The role combines an understanding of the effects of these structures on their surrounding environment with technical knowledge and management skills.

You’ll be involved at all stages of a project, including assessing viability and planning a site’s structure before a new site is developed. You’ll also manage and oversee mining production processes, including getting involved in the final closure and rehabilitation process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilise your technical expertise to design and implement mine plans and production methods.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve resource utilisation.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations to effectively communicate engineering concepts
• Ensure operations comply with safety regulations and environmental standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of demonstrated experience in the mining industry.
• Strong understanding of mine design principles, blasting techniques, and geotechnical engineering.
• Proficiency in relevant mining software e.g Surpac, Vulcan, Datamine etc
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safety protocols and environmental stewardship.
