Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly motivated and committed employee for the position of Malundwe Crusher Control Operator to join the versatile Process team. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the Senior Shift Supervisor, you will ensure process concentrates are blended within specification then loaded and sampled as directed by the operations department.
Your duties will include but not limited to the following:
– Monitor and control processes within the processing plant from the centralized control room.
– Monitor equipment status, process parameters, and instrumentation readings to ensure they are within specified ranges and take corrective actions if necessary.
– Collaborate with Senior Supervisors, Shift Metallurgists, Metallurgical Accounting, field Operators and Maintenance personnel to address equipment malfunctions, breakdowns, or other issues promptly.
– Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
– Adjust process variables to optimize production efficiency while adhering to quality standards.
– Monitor and manage alarms and alerts, responding promptly to abnormal situations to prevent or mitigate potential issues.
– Communicate effectively with other Control room operators, Supervisors, and relevant personnel to relay information and coordinate activities.
– Keep detailed records of operational activities (Log sheets), incidents, and maintenance performed for reporting and analysis purposes.
– Implement emergency response procedures when required and assist in evacuations or shutdowns if necessary.
– Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback and suggestions for optimizing plant operations.
– Follow and promote safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel in the plant.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
– Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
– Minimum Diploma in Metallurgy / Chemical Engineering.
– Ability to show initiative and have good interpersonal skills.
– Able to pass pre-employment medicals.
– Good communication skills in English language and comprehension.
– Must be willing to comply with LMC safe working practices and standards.
– At least two (2) years’ experience in the Control room operations preferably in PCS7.
