POSITION : MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

LOCATION : LUSAKA

1.0 PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To maintain Depot equipment through effective planned maintenance, inspections, certification and equipment service programs, efficient spares management and prompt execution of breakdowns in order to ensure that equipment is in a sound state at all times and adhering to engineering standards in accordance with the RUBiS HSE policies and guidelines and the Depot maintenance procedures and processes. Principally the role consists of the following:

• Enforcement of the RUBiS HSEQ and Security policies and programs
• Equipment Planned Maintenance
• Equipment Inspections
• Equipment Servicing
• Equipment Certification, Calibration and Testing
• Equipment breakdowns and Installations
• Maintenance Reporting

2.0 NATURE AND SCOPE OF ACTIVITY

• Ensures optimum performance and seeks improvements to create competitive advantage in terms of maintenance and Asset Utilisation and Costs within agreed budgets
• Full utilization of TAG (The Asset Guide) for all preventive and corrective works.
• Ensure safe and optimal operation of the plant, meters, pumps and product storage tanks, pipeline distribution network
• Perform structured rounds in the plant and take corrective action to maintain equipment and plant operations within safe operating limits
• Prepare equipment for maintenance and perform unit start-up, shutdown and plant turnaround activities
• Update operating procedures and prepare job pack documentation for equipment repair
• Perform troubleshooting to resolve operational issues and provide support for technical and mechanical teams
• Carry Management of Change for all non-routine tasks

3.0 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

a. Educational background

• Full Grade Certificate
• Advanced Certificate or Diploma in electrical and Mechanical Engineering

b. Experience (years and nature)

The candidate should have the relevant experience in the following at least for 5 years:

• 3 years’ experience in operations in the Oil Marketing Industry.
