
Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ)
Reports to Assistant Facilities Manager – Works & Maintenance. The incumbent will perform a wide variety of machines/equipment monitoring, maintenance record updates and coordinate gensets service and refueling. The position holder must have a knowledge of generators, pumps, basic electrical and mechanics.
Main Duties:
- Ensures regular service of all machines/equipment by service providers or in-house maintenance service team (generators, firefighting equipment, water pumps etc.)
- Monitors equipment/machines to ensure good maintenance practice, equipment good performance, documentation of maintenance and maintenance justification.
- Cleans and maintains equipment/machines for the safety of staff and maintenance of equipment.
- Maintains inspection and updated service records for all facilities equipment/machines (service schedules, usage log sheets, plant operation history and refueling records etc.)
- Monitors and maintains fuel usage records for generators and incinerators
- Ensures fuel collected for gensets/incinerators is delivered to intended destination as per requesting project details.
- Facilitates the transportation of fuel supplies to generator sites when required.
- Adheres to proper safety measures when handling facilities equipment/machines.
- Monitors equipment/machines status and report any problems needing expert attention and ensure good maintenance control techniques when breakdowns occur.
- Carries out any other lawful tasks as assigned by the supervisor
- Be accessible by mobile phone at all times
- Assists in variety maintenance tasks, stocking, unloading and delivery of supplies.
- Documents all equipment maintenance activities and maintenance tasks feedback
- Provides the Assistant Manager –Works &maintenance with regular reports on works carried out as may be advised.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 certificate
- Craft certificate in electrical, mechanics, mechanical fitting or any other related trades.
- Identify problems and implement solutions, work independently in the absence of supervision, and have multi-tasking skills.
- At least 2 years’ relevant experience
- Must be member of EIZ
