The Zambia National Building Society (ZNBS) seeks to recruit a qualified, skilled, motivated, and energetic individual to fill the position of Legal Officer – Litigation under the Legal Directorate
LEGAL OFFICER (Litigation) – Head Office, Lusaka (ZNBS 6)
Job PurposeÂ
To provide legal advice to the Society and support the Legal Counsel in all legal matters including all interpretation of the low, providing legal opinions and Litigation of mothers on behalf of the Society
Main duties and responsibilities
- To assist in providing sound legal advice and counsel to management on matters of low, ethics and good corporate governance which minimise legal risk to the Society
- To assist in providing management with legal opinions on any matter of policy in the Society to ensure legal enability of such policies or influence amendments to relevant legislation to allow for the implementation of the policies;
- To assist in the interpretation key statutes and other pieces of key legislation which have a bearing on carrying out of the Socialy’s mandate in order to ensure that the operations carried out are within the law;
- To assist in commencing actions in the courts of low on behalf of the Society whenever there is need to do so or defend actions that are commenced against the Society
- To assist in conducting legal research on various matters;
- To assist in preparing written reports and opinions on how court cases should be handled
- To assist in sending out demand letters to clients who have defaulted in payments and collecting or recover the outstanding debt
- To prepare monthly and quarterly sectional reports on the status of trigolion cases and engagement with external counsel
Qualifications and Experience
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate
- LLB Degree
- Advocate of the High Court of Zambia
- Member of LAZ
- A minimum of 3 years’ post admission experience as an Advocate

- Ability to handle sensitive information
- Well vested in ligation and all aspects of legal matters
