Job Title: Lead Information Security Officer

The key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the following:

• Ensuring implementation of technical security standards on all technology platforms;
• Regular monitoring and reporting of compliance of technology platforms against the standards;
• Ensuring the integration of technology platforms into the security compliance and monitoring eco-system. Report on effectiveness the same to ExCo and Group Security;
• Working with other relevant functions to facilitate the timely and effective closure of security incidents;
• Working with all relevant functions to facilitate timely remediation of security vulnerabilities on technology platforms;
• Managing of Information Security risk assessments across the Technology function in order to identify information security weaknesses;
• Implement controls to mitigate information security risks;
• Managing and monitoring compliance to Information security policies, procedures and standards via a robust information security program/plan;
• Liaising with other relevant functions to implement information security as defined by MTN Mobile Money for Financial Technology;
• Managing escalating issues (within the information security domain) along with relevant stakeholders;
• Assisting relevant business owners and custodians in identifying and setting activities logs, audit trails, functional and technical requirements, and ensure adequate custody of such;
• Serving as an internal information security consultant to MTN Mobile Money and advise on trending information security technologies/related regulatory issues around financial technology;
• Providing adequate support for any escalated information security issues (as needed);
• Supervising and managing collaboration with relevant vendors/stakeholders for vulnerability scanning and penetration testing exercises;
• Managing the maintenance an adequate information security risk register for critical assets;
• Providing direct support and oversight to the information security department team members, vendors, managed service partners and other relevant stakeholders;
• Ensuring adequate compliance to the information security requirements of MTN Mobile Money, by all partners integrated into MTN Mobile Money.

Candidate Requirements

• Grade 12 certificate with 5 credit or better of which English and Mathematics are a must;
• Minimum of three (3) year tertiary degree in a Technology Field. A Masters Degree in Information Security is an added advantage;
• Minimum of three (3) years working experience in the Information Security domain, with at least experience in Information Security related Governance, Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance;
• Globally recognized cyber security certification;
• Experience in the Financial Services or telecommunication sector is an added advantage;
• Understanding emerging markets advantageous.
