Job Summary

Job Description

Responsible for direct management of the Accounting staff engaged in general or specialized accounting functions such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cost Accounting and the like. Responsible for the development, modification and review of accounting systems, reporting methods and controls. Performs accounting tasks in general or specialized accounting functions such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cost Accounting and the like. Interprets accounting data, prepares and analyzes reports and may make recommendations. Establishes and prepares specialized reports analysis and maintains accurate, detailed financial records. May assist in the development and installation of accounting systems, methods, procedures and controls. May assist accountants in a variety of accounting assignments including preparation.

Responsibilities Typically Include

• Policy and strategy implementation for short-term results (1 year or less). Administers and executes policies, processes, and procedures that affect subordinate employees and the workflow of the work unit. Problems faced are difficult to moderately complex.
• Influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures. Assignments are defined in terms of activities and objectives. Decisions impact work unit operations. Erroneous decisions or recommendations or failure to achieve results might cause delays in schedules and require the allocation of more people and financial resources.
• Internal interaction is primarily with subordinates and other supervisors. External interaction is typically with suppliers, vendors and/or customers. Primary purpose of liaison is information sharing and basic problem resolution.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree + Nine years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + Seven years of relevant experience, or PhD + Four years of relevant experience
