Human Resource Intern- (PAID INTERNSHIP)

Job Purpose

The HR Intern will support SHEP’s growing operations by aiding in HR administration, research and development, talent management processes, documentation, and client deliverables. This role is ideal for someone who wants to learn how HR works in a real office environment and gain hands-on experience.

A.   HR Support

  • Assist in recruitment processes: adverts, sorting applications, shortlisting, scheduling interviews.
  • Support onboarding documentation and induction preparation.
  • Maintain internal HR files, trackers, and staff records
  • Assist with performance management activities, data entry, and document preparation.
  • Support HR compliance updates (NAPSA, NHIMA, ZRA PAYE).
  • Maintain the internal leave management tracker.

B.   General Administrative Support

  • Support procurement processes (quotations, vendors, deliver tracking, purchasing office supplies and maintaining stock levels).
  • Assist with any other duties assigned by the HR team.
  • Assist in SHEP office operations, documentation, and record-keeping.
  • Help manage events, calendars, workshop logistics, room bookings, and travel support.

Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or any related field.
  • Basic understanding of HR processes is an advantage.
  • Fresh graduate as no experience is required

Skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organization and time-management skills.
  • Ability to always maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Email.
