About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Fleet Manager with strong logistics and supply chain management expertise to oversee our company’s vehicle operations, maintenance, and dispatch functions. The ideal candidate will be a member of the Zambia Institute of Logistics and Transport (ZILT) and demonstrate proven experience in managing a diverse fleet and optimizing transport operations for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and coordinate fleet operations to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules, repairs, licensing, and insurance compliance.
- Develop and monitor fleet budgets, fuel consumption reports, and cost-control measures.
- Manage driver performance, training, and adherence to safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with road transport regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate logistics, routing, and scheduling in collaboration with procurement and warehouse teams.
- Maintain accurate vehicle records, trip logs, and GPS tracking data.
- Implement performance indicators (KPIs) and continuous improvement measures.
- Liaise with suppliers, workshops, and regulatory bodies on fleet-related matters.
2. Qualifications, Competencies, and How to Apply
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Transport Management, or Supply Chain Management.
- Professional membership with ZILT (Zambia Institute of Logistics & Transport) – mandatory.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing corporate or commercial fleets.
- Strong knowledge of fleet management systems, fuel tracking, and route optimization tools.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, reports, and cross-functional coordination.
- Valid driver’s license (CE or PSV category is an added advantage).

- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Good understanding of fleet safety, compliance, and preventive maintenance.
- High integrity and accountability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software (e.g., Fleetio, GPS tracking dashboards).
