Job Purpose

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for preparing the monthly profit and loss, and balance sheet reports. Recording and reconciliation of all financial transactions to give accurate financial information to aid management in decision making and enhance customer confidence Tax reporting and inventory processing. Take ownership of monthly and quarterly Budget & Forecast


Summary of Key Responsibilities;

  • Collecting and analyzing data, which is then used in the preparation of weekly and monthly estimates Advising on estimates for project funding
  • Take charge of creating KPI reports
  • Preparing weekly cash flow statements, and controlling expenditure and cash flow
  • Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts
  • Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data
  • Conducting internal audits such as wage reviews
  • Examining financial records to check for accuracy
  • Managing and training staff when necessary
  • Posting and maintaining ledger account transactions
  • Reviewing journals entries before posting
  • Ensure compliance with local and regional tax obligations
  • Provide high-quality financial analysis and reporting on a weekly basis
  • Manage key relationships with senior internal/external stakeholders
  • Cost centre analysis
  • High-level support to Head of Finance
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement key changes

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Finalist or Full ACCA, CIMA or CA Zambia
  • Must have a minimum of 4-5 years relevant experience in Financial Accounting
  • Proven Experience in Financial Reporting Standards
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
  • Must be well vested in PASTEL and other Accounting Systems
  • Financial Accounting experience with an Insurance & Pension firm or University will be a plus
  • Must be a member of ZICA
