Finance and Procurement Position
Chengelo Training Farm Background
Chengelo Training Farm (CTF) is located in Mkushi, Zambia and was set up in 1994 with two
main purposes: to serve Chengelo School with fresh produce and train pupils and local
farmers in agriculture skills.
The farm currently comprises of a dairy, piggery, layers and broiler units, vegetable garden,
orchard and a butchery. There is a training centre that provides an excellent venue for
agricultural training and discipleship courses.
CTF has three training focus areas. Firstly, to up-skill and help farmers and farm workers
develop by providing training courses for them to attend. Secondly, assist Chengelo School
to deliver outstanding learning experience in agriculture for pupils from the primary and
secondary school. Thirdly, the farm is a base for Foundations Zambia, a separate ministry
that aims to disciple the poor in biblical principles of farming, family and finance.
Job Description
This role provides a fantastic opportunity to work on a growing farm with an enthusiastic
team and gain experience of a diverse range of enterprises. The applicant must be well
organised and confident working with numbers and computers. Experience of bookkeeping
is ideal but training is available.
Responsibilities:
Finance:
- Bookkeeping
- Entering sales data
- Â Payroll
- Bank transactions
- Paying suppliers
- Invoicing customers
- Financial reporting to Management team
- Preparing finance reports for audit.
Procurement:
- Stock taking.
- Ordering supplies for the farm.
- Organising collection and transport.
General:
- Ordering consignment stock for the shop.
- Liaising with customers and suppliers to ensure the farm shop provides a great
service to the local community. - General training centre admin and liaison with hosting team.
Salary: Dependent on experience and level of qualification
