Job Title: Engineer – Network Performance and SLA (Solwezi)

The key responsibilities for this role include but not limited to the following:

• Plan and support network coverage, capacity, and performance optimisation to meet current and future MTN Zambia requirements.
• Support the installation, integration, and upgrading of network sites and equipment, ensuring compliance with MTN standards, procedures, and SLAs.
• Conduct new site acceptance for BTS installations delivered by Managed Services Contractors, ensuring adherence to technical specifications.
• Monitor network performance, efficiency, and availability using relevant tools and provide actionable insights.
• Coordinate and support network troubleshooting activities across active and passive infrastructure teams.
• Provide second-level technical support to internal teams and liaise with external stakeholders contractors and partners).
• Support Enterprise and Commercial teams with network assurance and complex customer solutions.
• Monitor and track network maintenance and upgrade activities in line with agreed schedules.
• Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and ad hoc network performance and SLA reports.
• Conduct research on emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending optimisation and improvement initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance network performance, service quality, and operational efficiency.

Candidate Requirements

• Grade 12 certificate with 5 credit or better of which English and Mathematics are a must
• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications or a related field.
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in mobile communications, networking, and wireless installations.
• Proven experience in LAN and WAN design and implementation.
• Strong experience in routing and switching configuration (complex environments).
• Demonstrated experience in telecommunications network operations and support.
