Summary

Drive allocated vehicles adhering to stringent organizational policies and regulation, always, ensuring the safety of passengers.

Responsibilities

  • Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Child Safeguarding Policy
  • Follow up on road tax and motor vehicle insurance and any insurance claims that may arise.
  • Ensure that keys for all utility vehicles are secured at the end of the business day.
  • Ensure parking times of vehicles is within the stipulated time which is 18:30hrs at most and that any late parking is explained.
  • Verify fuel consumption on request before approval.
  • Maintain a Vehicle service report.
  • Coordinate fleet servicing procedures.
  • Always keep the assigned vehicle and engine clean.
  • Conduct quick check of the assigned vehicle before using it, check tyre pressure, oil level, indicators etc to ensure safe use of the vehicle and to improve vehicle serviceability and the span.
  • Drive the assigned vehicle safely while observing Zambian traffic rules.
  • Fill in vehicle logbook and other control documentation as required by management.
  • Ensure that ChildFund vehicles are used for business only and not carrying unauthorised passengers/or parcels.
  • In case of any accidents involving vehicles, immediately report to the police and make a sketch of the position of the vehicle by taking particulars of the other vehicle and the driver at the earliest opportunity report to the Administration Officer.
  • Perform any other duty as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • At least Grade 12 school certificate
  • Zambian Driving license valid for more than 4 years
  • 3 – 4 years’ experience in the same capacity
