Depot Manager

Spectra Oil Corporation seeks a Depot Manager to ensure seamless storage, handling, and distribution of lubricants for Zambia’s mining sector. If you excel in optimising inventory, leading teams, and maintaining critical technical systems, join us in driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inventory & Facility Management: Maintain optimal stock levels using FIFO systems, prevent contamination, and oversee automated fluid tracking (SCADA/PLCs).
• Technical Systems Oversight: Ensure reliability of bulk handling infrastructure (pumps, motors, tanks) through preventive maintenance and calibration.
• HSE & Compliance Leadership: Enforce safety protocols for hazardous materials, conduct environmental audits, and manage spill response.
• Distribution Strategy: Develop logistics plans for remote mining sites, coordinating timely replenishments amid demand fluctuations.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as primary technical liaison for mining teams and OEMs, resolving operational issues promptly.
• Performance Optimisation: Track KPIs for stock accuracy, cost savings, and efficiency gains in inventory/logistics.
• Team Development: Train staff on safety procedures, equipment operation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Attributes:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or related field)
• Experience:
• 5-10 years in mining/industrial distribution or lubricant storage.
• Hands-on expertise with SCADA/PLC systems, fluid handling infrastructure, and HSE compliance.
• Proven leadership in high-risk/remote environments.

Skills:

• Proficiency in inventory management systems and mechanical/electrical maintenance.
• Knowledge of lubricant applications, ISO standards, and MSDS protocols.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical abilities.
