JOB TITLE: Deli Indian Cuisine Chef

REPORTING TO: Store Manager

JOB TYPE: Deli Indian Cuisine Chef

LOCATION: Choppies Zambia

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ability to prepare, create unique and interesting range of Indian cuisine
  • Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Quick learner and willing to follow set recipes
  • Honest, mature and sober of character
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Set up work stations with required ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Ability to prepare and cook using various kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Work in a fast paced and pressure intensive environment
  • Ensure clean as you work and maintain high levels of sanitary conditions in preparation and serving areas
  • Ensure all food, ingredients and utensils are stored properly
  • Have basic knowledge of colour coding to prevent cross contamination
  • Willing to travel / relocate to different locations country-wide
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Full grade twelve (12) results
  • Minimum certificate in food production/catering/ hotel management
  • 3 years working experience in a busy restaurant commercial kitchen
  • Higher tertiary certifications in other food based courses is an added advantage
