NICO Insurance Zambia Limited, a general insurance company, has been operating in Zambia since 1st October 1997, and has branches in Lusaka, Kitwe, Ndola, Livingstone and Chipata. NICO Insurance Zambia Limited is a member of NICO Group of Companies operating in Malawi, and Sanlam through Sanlam Allianz. The Company is now seeking to identify a suitably experienced and qualified individual to be engaged as Credit Control Officer.

The Credit Control Officer shall be responsible for collecting premiums from outstanding customers/brokers, preparing receivable statements and reconciliations, as well as computing commissions payments in line with credit control guidelines and policy.

Main duties will include the following:

  • Timely follow ups and collection of outstanding receivables by engaging customers and brokers.
  • Preparation of detailed monthly receivable statement reconciliations for customers, brokers, and agents.
  • Matching of receipts to their respective policies.
  • Makes timely recommendation of cancellation of policies nearing or in default of agreed terms to the Credit Control Manager and the Underwriting Units affected.
  • Compiles daily and weekly activity and collection reports against set targets and submits the same to the Credit Control Manager.
  • Prepares monthly detailed payment plan status reports for assigned brokers and clients and submits to Credit Control Manager for consolidation.
  • Liaising with underwriters on commission rates before paying Brokers and Agents.
  • Working hand in hand with Underwriters and Brokers on queried policies.
  • Providing accurate and complete audit information and schedules on time.

Requirements:

  • Have a first degree in accounting or related field.
  • Have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience, preferably in the general insurance industry.
  • Working knowledge of accounting standards and procedures.
  • High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
  • Sound independent judgement and high integrity.
  • Paid-up member of ZICA.
