The continent’s very first and trailblazing Africa to Asia payment gateway is seeking to add

an experienced Country Manager to their lean but dynamic team of international experts. With the belief that a ‘start-up’ type environment is made up of the individual, their vision is to build global financial services for local individuals and small businesses enabling them to scale and compete globally. The role will sit in Zambia and as such will focus on Zambia as a market.

A bit about the role:

Their Country Manager will be entrepreneurial in mindset, comfortable with starting out in the market autonomously, outgoing and hands-on with an in-depth understanding of the remittances/FinTech space and how it relates to the markets of focus. The ideal candidate would be someone that is familiar with and loves start-up type environments, with the network and ability to expand and grow the business whilst forming the right partnerships with the likes of telco’s, banks, mobile money as well as local switches and PSP’s. As the business has 2 main hubs, one of them being in Asia it is important for you to understand your markets of focus inside out, tailoring the business’s solutions to suit the market and bringing into context the relationship of trade with Asia. Another key element to success in the role is an in-depth understanding of the regulatory environment and ensuring the business remains compliant as well as having a good understanding of both local and international treasury and FX. Your mission:

  • Expanding the business and forming the right partnerships, essential for growth in the market
  • Understanding and keeping a grip on all regulatory aspects
  • Revenue targets: overall, responsible for ensuring that order booking and other sales target are met
  • Client relationship: ensure customer satisfaction is high in the region, driving the CSAT target for the entire region by engaging with the clients and ensuring the highest levels of service
  • Maintain and record a healthy sales pipeline whilst leveraging on your knowledge of the typical FinTech sales process with the intent to streamline workflow
  • Proactively brainstorm or conduct innovation workshop with prospects
  • Keep up to date with market trends and insights to help shape the solutions being offered
  • Conducting roadshows to create awareness of the business’s latest products/solutions/technology/innovations in key markets
  • Track developments in the remittances/FinTech domain in the Africa Region and incorporate market requirements in roadmap developed
  • Collections: overall, responsibility of ensuring collections and payments from the accounts handled in the region
  • Process compliance : ensure all processes related to Bid Management, Sales Funnel reporting & tracking, Sales Forecasting etc are adhered to
  • Internal stakeholder management : work collaboratively to drive efficiencies with internal teams of the business and create win-win situations while handling customer engagement on the ground

A bit about you:

  • 5+ years of C-Level sales/management experience with a proven track record of accomplishment in the remittances/FinTech space
  • Customer handling experience of selling into corporates (both local and Asian)
  • Strong industry level connections in the traders, remittances and FinTech space
  • Go-getter and Entrepreneurial, a true hunger for the hunt, very results and number driven
  • Strong strategic acumen coupled with execution capability
  • Excellent communication skills, matured in conduct and command
  • Fluent in Mandarin will be an added advantage
