Content Marketing Manager

Purpose of the Position

This is a key position within the MultiChoice Zambia marketing team where you are required to develop, implement, and manage content marketing and on-air campaigns to ensure maximum exposure of the business’ entire content portfolio from local content, sports content to international and 3rd party content. You will be part of a highly motivated, passionate team and will be expected to contribute to the overall subscriber growth, customer satisfaction, customer retention, and brand health by promoting MultiChoice’s most desirable content pieces within the vast library. The position works closely with the brand management, digital marketing, channels, on-air scheduling, and MultiChoice Africa content marketing team.

Key Performance Objectives

Marketing and communication campaign management for local, sport, and 3rd party/international content (General Entertainment)

  • Managing the content marketing strategy implementation in Zambia.
  • Channel Content Marketing: Liaise with channels on offering and promote through the different elements.
  • Oversee all 3rd party/international content marketing production process from brief to delivery.
  • Management of new channel launches: communicate to customers when the business launches new channels across the portfolio.
  • Distribute all Channel’s programming schedules, highlights, and assets to cross-functional teams and the in-country digital and integrated communications teams.
  • Liaise with various MultiChoice departments and M-Net and SuperSport on campaigns, subscriber needs etc.
  • Report progress, development, and market research to individual channels.
  • Drive entire campaign production process from conceptualization through to final delivery.
  • Obtain marketing communications collateral and approvals of content Group as and when a campaign is to be flighted.
  • Feedback in country Head of Marketing on progress on development and market research of individual channels
  • Manage on air look and feel of the brand.
  • Marketing of content on different platforms
  • Drive entire production process from conceptualization through to final delivery while collaborating with the various relevant teams.

Collaboration and stakeholder management

  • Monitor all campaign executions and contribute towards reporting requirements.
  • Project manage and coordinate between channels, corporate marketing, in-country marketing, and multiple other areas of the business which marketing might touch

Qualifications

Minimum of a degree in marketing, media, or social science equivalent.

Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in strategic marketing planning.
  • TV production experience added advantage.
  • Experience on entertainment/media properties would be preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of operations, technical, broadcasting and production background.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Pay TV and video on demand landscape.
  • Understanding of the model for working and developing campaigns with agencies and management of multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to closely manage a marketing budget.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the media distribution value chain.
  • Strong understanding of linkage between marketing activity and commercial KPIs.
  • Fluent in commercial and financial KPIs.
  • Strong understanding of consumer behavior and customer lifecycles.
  • Project management knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to closely monitor timelines.

Technical competencies

  • Understanding of Pay TV and streaming landscape.
  • Knowledge of agency briefing.
  • Knowledge and understanding of operations.
  • Strong Project Management skills.
  • Strong documentation and coordination skills.
  • Detail and process orientated.
