The North Western Water Supply and Sewerage Company Limited (NWWSSCL) is a commercial utility, providing water and sanitation services in the North – Western Province. The Company has a vision of “striving for excellence in water supply and sanitation”. The Company operates in Eight (8) Districts; Solwezi, Mwinilunga, Kasempa, Mufumbwe, Manyinga, Kabompo, Zambezi and Chavuma. The Company envisioned to take over provision of water and sanitation services in the newly created districts of Mushindamo, Kalumbila and Ikelenge.
COMMERCIAL MANAGER – G3 (X1)
1.0 Reporting Line: Managing Director
2.0. Job Purpose:
To contribute to financial viability and sustainability of the company through effective and efficient
billing, revenue collection and customer care.
3.0 Main Duties and Responsibilities
3.1 Implement the company’s commercial policy in order to ensure efficient billing and revenue
3.2 Prepares and monitors commercial departmental budget
3.3 Develops collection strategies and programmes to improve collection efficiency
3.4 Identifies opportunities that will lead to expansion of services and revenue
3.5 Consolidates daily collections submitted by districts so as to show total daily collections for
3.6 Consolidates all Government bills for Government properties serviced by NWWSSCL and
submits to Lusaka for payment after certification by respective GRZ departments.
3.7 Investigates and resolves major customer complaints
3.8 Monitors performance of the department against targets and budget and ensures corrective
3.9 Prepares management reports on commercial activities and submits to Senior Management
and NWASCO as required
3.10 Acts as focal liaison on commercial issues between customers and NWWSSCL
3.11. Participates in community meeting with RDCS, Councilors etc. in order to explain
NWWSSCL Commercial policies and activities
3.12 Attends management meetings, represents NWWSSCL at fairs, sits on committees tasked
with review of tariffs so as to provide technical input for new tariff proposals

3.13 Supervises. coaches, motivates, develops and disciplines subordinates; and agrees,
monitors and reviews performance of subordinates to ensure that they meet their agreed targets.
3.14 Performs any other duties as may be assigned to him by the Managing Director from time to
4.0 Knowledge and Skill Requirements
4.1 Minimum Academic Qualification:
- Grade Twelve School Certificate or Form Five (05) certificate with five (05) ‘O’ Level Credits including Mathematics and English Language
4.2 Minimum Academic/Vocational/Professional qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in a Business Discipline.
4.3 Relevant Work Experience
- At least 5 years post qualifying experience in a Commercial Utility/Reputable organisation
