Job Purpose

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Commercial Finance Manager to join their team within the poultry industry. This pivotal role involves overseeing financial strategies, optimizing commercial operations, and ensuring sound financial practices to drive business growth and profitability.


Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including cost analysis, pricing strategies, and profit margins for various poultry products
  • Monitor financial performance against budgetary goals and provide insights for improvement

Business Strategy

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Assess market trends, analyze competitors, and contribute to the development of strategic plans to expand market share

Budgeting And Forecasting

  • Manage the budgeting process, providing accurate forecasts and financial models to support decision-making
  • Identify areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvements across departments

Commercial Operations

  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to evaluate pricing structures, promotions, and sales strategies to maximize revenue
  • Drive initiatives to enhance profitability while maintaining a balance between sales growth and cost control

Reporting And Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and industry standards
  • Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders, offering insights and recommendations

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or relevant certification preferred.
  • Proven track record of no less than 8 yrs in a finance management role within the poultry industry or a related field
  • Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic recommendations
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards within the poultry industry
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced MS Excel skills


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in FMCG
  • Strategically analysing and tracking the rapidly emerging formal trade in Zambia and positioning to the company to maximize opportunities from these trends
