cfb medical centre, a leading private hospital in Lusaka, is seeking a skilled and versatile Chef with experience in baking and pastry to join our dynamic canteen team.
Job Summary
We are looking for a creative and experienced Chef to prepare a wide variety of meals and baked goods for our hospital canteen. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background, including expertise in baking and pastry, to deliver high-quality and nutritious food options for staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and cook a variety of meals, desserts, pastries, breads, and cakes.
• Decorate and present baked goods and meals creatively and professionally.
• Manage ingredient inventory and ensure freshness and quality.
• Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards in all kitchen operations.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef to design menus, including baked goods for special occasions and events.
• Assist with catering for hospital events and functions when required.
The job is particularly suitable for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements and possess the following attributes:
• Full Grade 12 Certificate with credit in English.
• Diploma in Food Production, Culinary Arts, or a related field
• At least 2 years’ experience as a Chef, with proven skills in baking and pastry.
• Creative flair and attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, health, and safety practices.
