Business Developer for Renewable Energies

Desired Education:

• Master’s degree or business school / engineering degree in Business, Economics, or Finance with a specialization in Energy.

Technical Skills:

• Initial experience in the renewable energy sector desired.
• First experience in renewable energy development in Africa would be a significant advantage.
• Knowledge of the economics of renewable energies.
• Negotiation skills.

Computer Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel).

Languages:

• English: C1 level.
• French: C1 level.

Zambia represents a significant potential wind and solar market for the company (1GW+). This market is particularly promising given the energy crisis affecting Zambia and the needs of the prosperous, energy-intensive mining sector in the Copperbelt. TotalEnergies GRP Renewables has been very active in Zambia for several years without dedicated resources, although the Marketing and Service branch has been represented for 70 years.

Our renewable projects require strong local coordination, which will be handled by the VIE whose mission will be mainly under the responsibility of the senior developer in charge of Zambia.

As a Business Developer for Renewable Energies, your main tasks will be as follows:

• Coordination and management of local partners, development of working relationships.
• Coordination and management of service providers for projects: technical, legal, fiscal, environmental studies, etc.
• Representation and support in discussions, and negotiation for the company during meetings with authorities (representatives of the ministries of energy, finance, regulator, national electricity company, etc.).
• Market monitoring, detection of opportunities among energy buyers, project developers.
• Preparation and follow-up of missions of the team based in France.

Context and Environment

The position holder will receive a VIE allowance according to the Business France scale.

Housing and a rental vehicle will be provided by the subsidiary. DRIVING LICENSE REQUIRED.
