Reporting to the Senior Mine Trainer – Ancillary, the Ancillary Trainer will be responsible for assisting the Senior Mine Trainer – Ancillary equipment in conducting the ancillary equipment training and assessments and in implementation of a comprehensive training programs designed to ensure all ancillary operators are given the tools to achieve excellence in the mine equipment operation.

Your duties will include but not limited to the following:

  • Support training compliance with the requirements of LMC BCBED BOE Model
  • Define and identify the training needs as per the organisational requirements.
  • Support the compliance to the Operator Competency Scorecard.
  • Indirectly minimise costs through efficient training of employees by providing expertise, resources and services.
  • Report and document all training paper work pertaining to management of IQA systems for capturing and storing training
  • Assist in the identification of the training needs and work with the Senior Mine Trainer and Mining Supervisors to manage and implement the relevant training programmes.
  • Assist the Senior Mine Trainer to develop continuous improvement training methods and communicate and apply accordingly.
  • Assist Senior Mine Trainer to develop maintain and continuously update training material
  • Support in the Implementation and development of facilitator’s manuals, capability assessments, workplace competency assessments.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Certificate IV in training/Assessor or any other relevant field
  • Teaching Methodology an added advantage
  • TEVETA Accreditation as Trainer/Assessor an added advantage
  • Certificates in at least 2 different ancillary equipment operations
  • Certificates in other HME will be an added advantage.
  • Significant experience (5 years) operating mining equipment.
  • Experience in training and development of operators in Ancillary equipment operations of open pit mining operations.
  • Able to clearly demonstrate the aptitude to drive a light vehicle and hold a current Zambian driver’s license or be able to obtain one.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Competent in incident/accident investigation
