Responsibilities
The successful incumbent will be responsible to manage and implement the business strategy in the defined area; by fostering long-lasting relationships through commercial and technical support with key stakeholders/partners.
- Manage and implement business and operational strategy, driving marketing initiatives with distributors and crop advisors to support sustainable growth and achieve targets
- Improve key customer relationships by managing relationships with distributors, crop advisors, and farmers
- Accurately forecast monthly and annual product needs to meet business objectives
- Support proposals for strategic product positioning in the region; establish sound relationships through regular meetings with distributors, crop advisors, and their management teams
- Provide support during sales events; offer on-farm technical support and training to distributors, crop advisors, and farmers
- Attend necessary crop meetings; create strategic product positioning documents for different seasons
- Communicate decisions made by the crop team; identify business opportunities for BASF products in the defined area
- Collaborate with stakeholders to manage demo trials applicable to specified region
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Agricultural, Sales, Marketing or equivalent Diploma
- Minimum of 5 years’ of sales or technical experience in the agricultural industry
- Fluent in both written and spoken English, with a familiarity with the local dialect
- Strong understanding of fungicides, herbicides, and pesticides
- Extensive knowledge of plant health and crop care practices
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite at an intermediate level
- Skilled in delivering effective presentations and possessing excellent interpersonal abilities
