Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ)

The Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) is a statutory regulatory body under the Ministry of Health with both statutory obligations to regulate the registration of health facilities and health practitioners as well as maintaining optimal standards of competence, care and professional conduct. It was established under the Health Professions Act No. 24 of 2009. The mission of HPCZ is to safeguard the quality of health care services by regulating and monitoring the professional conduct of health practitioners and health facilities.
HPCZ now seeks applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill up the following positions:

1. Assistant Accountant x 01 (Ndola, Copperbelt Province)

Job Profile: To undertake accounting functions in order to ensure proper accountability of public funds

Main Duties:

  • Prepares and maintains effectively financial records in order to ensure accurate accounting, preservation and provisions of accounting information
  • Prepares timely payment vouchers in order to facilitate process transactions.
  • Undertakes timely retirement of imprest in order to facilitate re-imbursement and accountability.
  • Undertakes timely collection and banking of revenue in order to safeguard public funds and
  • Prepares timely bank reconciliation statements to facilitate accountability.

Knowledge and skills requirements:

  • Full Grade 12/Form V School Certificate,
  • ZICA Licentiate or equivalent,
  • Member of ZICA.
  • Minimum of one (1) year work experience,
  • Work experience in a reputable Organisation (i.c. Regulatory Statutory board or Public Institutions will be an added advantage).
  • Excellent English language oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to write analytical and technical reports and
  • Computer literate

2. Administrative Assistant x 01 (Ndola, Copperbelt Province)

Job Profile: To undertake the provision of secretarial, human resource functions and administrative as well as logistical support services in order to facilitate smooth operations of the Regional Office.

Main Duties:

  • Undertakes efficiently provision of secretarial services in order to facilitate smooth operation of the Office of the Regional Manager,
  • Undertakes effectively preparation of staff returns in order to facilitate human resource planning.
  • Undertakes effectively human resource development in order to enhance staff and organisational performance.
  • Undertakes effectively interpretation and implementation of Conditions of Service in order to maintain consistency in their applications,
  • Undertakes timely development and implementation of staff welfare programmes in order to enhance staff morale in the Institution,
  • Supervises and undertakes effectively the provision of administrative and logistical support services in order to facilitate the smooth operations of the Institution.
  • Undertakes effectively the implementation of the performance management systems in order to facilitate attainment of Institutional objectives and
  • Supervises effectively human, financial and other logistical resources in order to ensure the attainment of the Institutional objectives.

Knowledge and skills requirements:

  • Full Grade 12/Form V School Certificate.
  • Diploma in Human Resource Management or equivalent,
  • Member of ZIHRM.
  • Minimum of one (01) year work experience.
  • Work experience in a reputable Organisation (ie. Regulatory Statutory board or Public Institutions will be an added advantage)
  • Excellent English language oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to write analytical and technical reports and
  • Computer literate.

3. Office Assistant x 02 (Lusaka, Head Office-Lusaka Province and Livingstone Regional Hub, Southern Province)

Job Profile: To undertake cleaning of offices and delivery of mail in order to create a conducive working environment and facilitate smooth operations.

Main Duties:

  • Undertakes effectively collection and delivery of mail in order to ensure efficient and effective communication,
  • Undertakes timely collection and distribution of newspapers in order to make them available to appropriate officers.
  • Undertakes effectively Photocopying, binding and shredding of documents in order to facilitate their availability and destruction and
  • Cleans daily offices and office utensils to ensure conducive and hygienic working environment

Knowledge and skills requirements:

  • Full Grade 12/Form V School Certificate.
  • Minimum of one (01) year work experience.
  • Work experience in a reputable Organisation (ie. Regulatory Statutory board or Public Institutions will be an added advantage) and
  • Excellent English language oral and written communication skills.

4. Assistant Records Officer v 01 (Kasama Regional Hub, Northern Province)

Job Profile: undertake the provision and maintenance of registry services in order to enhance accessibility, security and flow of information.

Main Duties:

  • Undertakes effectively the indexing of files in order to facilitate efficient and effective storage and retrieval of information,
  • Undertakes effectively classification of correspondence in order to facilitate timely access of information,
  • Undertakes periodically the identification of records to be transferred or destroyed in order to facilitate archiving and space creation.
  • Undertakes effectively the securing of records in order to prevent unauthorised access and destruction. Undertakes timely retrieval of records in order to facilitate decision making and
  • Undertakes timely preparation of individual work plans in order to monitor and evaluate performance.

Knowledge and skills requirements:

  • Full Grade 12/Form V School Certificate
  • Certificate in Library and Information Studies or equivalent,
  • Minimum of one (01) year work experience,
  • Work experience in a reputable Organisation i.e. Regulatory Statutory board or Public Institutions will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent English language oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to write analytical and technical reports and
  • Computer literate
