The Masabo Trust School is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates who are result-oriented, experienced professionals and passionate about making a mark in the education sector to teach on full time or part time basis at Secondary and Primary levels.
1. SECONDARY LEVEL – SOCIAL SCIENCES (HISTORY, CIVIC EDUCATION AND SOCIAL STUDIES) (1 POSITION)
Reporting directly to the Head of Section – Secondary, the job holder will be responsible for performing functions of a class teacher in line with school policy and approved curriculum.
MAIN DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Prepares lesson plans and effective lesson delivery.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of school policy in relation to the behaviour management of pupils
  • Encourage learner participation in lesson delivery and other school related activities.
  • Build Learner’s ability to work collaboratively with others.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Full Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Degree/Diploma in teaching methodology
  • Must be fully registered by the Teaching Council of Zambia.
  • Minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience
2. PRIMARY LEVEL – ALL SUBJECTS (2 POSITIONS)
Reporting directly to the Head of Section – Primary, the job holder will be responsible for performing functions of a class teacher in line with school policy and approved curriculum.
MAIN DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Prepares schemes of work and effective lesson delivery.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of school policy in relation to the behaviour management of pupils
  • Develop and issue educational content including notes, tests and assignments.
  • Supervise classes to ensure all learners are learning in a safe and productive environment.
  • Evaluate and document learners’ progress.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Full Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Degree/Diploma in teaching methodology
  • Must be fully registered by the Teaching Council of Zambia.
  • Minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience
OTHER SKILLS AND/OR ATTRIBUTES (1 AND 2)
  • Very good written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated and resourceful with strong intellectual ability
  • Ability to manage learners’ behaviours.
  • Should be a goal-getter and a team player.
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Passion for teaching as driving force.
  • Creative and resourceful
  • Must be articulate and have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Resource management skills
  • Must have sufficient knowledge of the subjects applied for.
  • Must have strong, positive classroom culture and being proactive.
  • Able to maintain a positive mind-set by learning to turn his or her negative thoughts into positive ones.
  • Good computer skills will be an added advantage.
