Job Purpose
The KAM-Retail will be responsible for managing the customer/category day-to-day operations while delivering sales and profitability targets for their account base. Maximize the availability of our products in the appropriate channels of distribution consistent with our brand strategy with an emphasis on superior new product execution. Build customer relationships at the buyer and senior buyer levels and facilitates connectivity in other functional areas including Marketing, Supply Chain, Communications and Operations.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Develop overall Sales and marketing plans to achieve maximum growth within assigned geographic territory and named accounts.
- Develop trust relationships with a portfolio of major clients to ensure they do not turn to competition
- Acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements
- Expand the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives
- Identify new business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analyzing sales opportunities while growing the mid-market and Tier 1 customer/prospect base.

- Ensure the correct products and services are delivered to customers in a timely manner
- Serve as the link of communication between key customers and internal teams
- Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust
- Play an integral part in generating new sales that will turn into long-lasting relationships
- Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using key account metrics
- Attend industry trade-shows, customer conventions in identified markets

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or Relevant Commercial Field
- Must have a minimum 6+ years of experience in a Retail Sales & Marketing environment (preferably in FMCG)
- Proven experience in Key Account Management at B2B level
- Experience in sales and providing solutions based on customer needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability in problem-solving and negotiation
- Must be a member of ZIM
